He squeezed in and saw that it was a middle-aged man dressed as a businessman, lying beside the stone bridge, shaking all over. He asked the person next to him, what happened to this person? Someone who came first started talking.
It turned out that this man was a businessman from the south of the Yangtze River, and his money was robbed on the way. The government did not solve the case for a long time, and he spent all the change he had on him, so he had to start home. Who would have thought that when I got here, I stayed in a bridge cave last night, contracted the wind and cold, and couldn't stand up this morning. He was penniless, unfamiliar with the place, and had no money for medical treatment, so he had to lie on the ground and wait to die.
Xi Ma Gan was a warm-hearted person, and he couldn't bear it, so he begged a few onlookers to help carry the businessman to the hospital, and he paid for the treatment. After the doctor made a diagnosis, he cooked a medicine and gave it to the businessman. Xi Ma Gan saw that the businessman was still unconscious, so he placed the businessman in a nearby inn.
In the middle of the night, the businessman woke up. Xi Ma Gan quickly brought him hot water and fed him to drink. He also brought him a bowl of millet porridge and fed him to eat slowly. After a while, the businessman became energetic and talked about his life experience.
His surname is Qu. He originally sold tea in the Jiangnan area, and his business was pretty good. In the spring of this year, he heard that the tea market in the north was good, so he bought several carts of tea, transported it to a city in the north, sold it, and made a lot of money. He planned to bring some goods back, so he inquired about the status of the goods in the city. Unexpectedly, he was drugged at night and all his money was robbed. The government could not solve the case, so he couldn't wait any longer, so he set out to go home, but unexpectedly fell ill here. Fortunately, he met the kind-hearted person Xi Ma Gan, otherwise, his life would have been lost.
Under Xi Ma Gan’s careful care, Merchant Qu recovered his health half a month later. Xi Ma Gan paid enough for the travel expenses, and Merchant Qu thanked him profusely and left. Before leaving, he vowed that he would repay the money for medical treatment and travel expenses in the future, and thank him heavily. Xi Ma Gan said magnanimously: "If it's convenient for you, just send it. If it's inconvenient or you're short of money, there's no need to send it deliberately. Anyway, I'm not short of the money, so I should treat you as my friend." Merchant Qu said goodbye in tears.
Two years later, Merchant Qu did not come, but Xi Ma Gan was involved in a big event. His newly married wife, Guan, suddenly became seriously ill and bedridden less than half a year after marrying her. After taking medicine for more than a month, there was still no improvement.
Xi Ma Gan found out that there was a famous doctor in Chang'an who had the ability to bring the dead back to life, so he hired a carriage to take Guan to Chang'an for treatment. After the diagnosis, the famous doctor said: "This disease is rare, very expensive, and the chance of cure is low. You have to think carefully." Because treating this disease requires long-term use of ginseng, ordinary people simply cannot afford it. Xi Magan gritted his teeth and said: "Even if I lose everything, I will save her."
The famous doctor was very moved and prescribed the medicine, and ordered a follow-up visit every ten days and a half to modify the dosage. Xi Ma Gan rented a room nearby and asked an old woman to help take care of it, while he hurried home to raise money.
After Xi Ma Gan's parents learned about it, they secretly advised him not to treat it. If it couldn't be cured, wouldn't it mean that both people and money would be lost? But Xi Ma Gan was a man of great love and justice, and was determined to treat Guan's illness, so his parents had no choice but to obey him, take out all the family's money, and follow him to Chang'an.
My parents waited on the patients, while Xi Ma Gan worked part-time jobs nearby. More than half a year later, Guan's condition has improved, but she still needs to take ginseng. Xi Ma Gan didn't have much money, so he had no choice but to beg his father to go back and deal with the property. My father was silent for a long time, and finally he sighed and went home. He sold off his land and valuables in his family, leaving only one house that could not be sold.
After more than half a year, Guan's condition got better and better. The famous doctor said happily: "This is a miracle. The patient is recovering very well. He will no longer need ginseng supplements in the future. He will continue to take medicine and recover slowly." Hearing this, the family was relieved and cried with joy.

He fell in love with Mrs. Guan, and when he learned about her condition, he started to think about it and persuaded Mrs. Wang to quietly negotiate a deal.
Mrs. Guan was stunned when she heard this, and said seriously: "My husband treats me with deep love and loyalty, how can I betray him? Mother Wang is joking." The old woman surnamed Wang said: "Your husband is now very poor, and you don't know. It takes years of the monkey to turn over, so it's not worth it for you to endure the hardships and hardships with him." She finally persuaded Guan to meet with the businessman surnamed Jia.
The businessman named Jia was cunning and cunning, and he used some tricks to quickly make Guan unable to extricate himself. After some time, Guan asked Xiucai to leave a letter and followed the businessman named Jia away.

Xi Ma Gan had no tears left. He hired a carriage to take his parents' coffins back to his hometown for burial. After burning Wuqi, he began to wander around the rivers and lakes, living a life of hunger and no fixed abode.
Time passed, three or four years passed, and Xi Ma Gan lived in a certain city in the southwest. At this time, he was unkempt, dressed in ragged clothes, and looked particularly old.
This morning, Xi Ma Gan asked for some hot soup and was eating steamed buns against the base of the city wall. At this time, a businessman came over and saw Xi Ma Gan. He hesitated for a while and walked over. After a while, he came back and stared at Xi Ma Gan. Xi Ma Gan had long been insensitive and bowed his head.
The merchant looked at it for a long time, and finally walked up and asked, "You look familiar, but your surname is Xi?" This man was merchant Qu, who came here to sell tea. When he returned home, he originally wanted to give money back to Xi Ma Gan, but he was delayed because his old father passed away and he had to stay at home to observe filial piety. Later, when the period of filial piety was over, he went to find Xi Ma Gan and found out that his family had gone to Chang'an. A few years later, he came to visit Xi Ma Gan again and learned that something had happened to his family and he was missing.
Unexpectedly, I met Xi Ma Gan here. Businessman Qu hugged him and cried loudly, but Xi Ma Gan remained silent. Merchant Qu took Xi Ma Gan to the inn, cleaned him up, changed his clothes, and then took him to the tavern to drink and say goodbye.
Under the persuasion of Merchant Qu, Xi Ma Gan followed him to the south of the Yangtze River. Merchant Qu built a courtyard, gave it to Xi Ma Gan, and arranged a marriage for him, allowing him to return to the embrace of life.
Later, Xi Ma Gan learned business from Merchant Qu, and a few years later, he became rich. His wife was kind and virtuous, and gave birth to three sons and two daughters. The family lives a happy life.
Xi Ma Gan is unlucky to have met a bad woman. He was lucky again, Merchant Qu helped him stand up again. Of course, if he hadn't rescued Merchant Qu in the first place, where would the reward have been?
