Yuan Linchang is over 90 years old and comes from Nanyang, Henan. He and Zhou Guomin's platoon leader met during the Battle of Huaihai.

In the second half of 1949, Yuan Linchang was approved to join the party with his outstanding performance, and Platoon Leader Zhou was his party introducer.

After that, they participated in the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, always leading the charge.

In the 1952 Battle of Shangganling , an enemy grenade was thrown into the trench where Yuan Linchang was. His platoon leader Zhou Guomin shouted "Get down!" and threw himself on Yuan Linchang, protecting Yuan Linchang with his body. .

Yuan Linchang's life was saved, but the platoon leader was covered in blood and fell unconscious. It was not until three months later that the platoon leader recovered.

Yuan Linchang and the platoon leader caught up with the large army and continued the bloody battlefield.
