On October 24, 1930, Yang Kaihui, who organized an armed struggle in Changsha, sneaked home to visit his mother and children. After being discovered by the warlord's spies, he was arrested that night.

The enemy became angry. After receiving orders from their superiors, members of the second platoon of the Fourth Company shot and killed Yang Kaihui on November 14, 1930 at the Literary Ridge outside the gate of Liuyang.

Yang Kaihui was shot twice and fell to the ground, but she was not dead. In the afternoon, the guards reported to the Fourth Company of Special Agents that the woman they had beaten in the morning was still alive. The supervisor, Yan Guowu, immediately ordered Yao Chuzhong beside him to take a shot.

After receiving the order, Yao Chuzhong led two guards and went straight to Literary Ridge. He saw Yang Kaihui crawling on the lawn with a lot of blood on the ground and his mouth full of sand.

Seeing this situation, Yao Chuzhong showed no mercy. He pulled the trigger and shot Yang Kaihui. That year, Yang Kaihui was only 29 years old. She died heroically and died gloriously.

After the founding of New China, Yang Kaihui’s murderer Yao Chuzhong went into hiding. He never revealed that he was Yang Kaihui’s murderer until 1970, during the labor reform period, when he told the truth about Yang Kaihui’s murder.

Yang Kaihui was arrested, but He Jian did not give her a severe sentence.

In August 1930, after the Red Army that attacked Changsha withdrew, He Jian, who had fled outside, came back. He hunted and killed revolutionary masses and Communists, and offered high rewards. To capture the chairman's wife Yang.

Faced with the interviewer’s questions, Yang Kaihui was not afraid at all. When the interviewer asked her: Why do you want to join the Communist Party? Did you know you broke the law?

Yang Kaihui smiled slightly: I didn’t break the law, the one who did was He Jian in Changsha City.

The interviewer added: If you repent now, you can ensure that your life will be worry-free. Yang Kaihui immediately expressed his position: I swear not to give in, I have my own beliefs, my life has long been ignored, and I will be benevolent if I don't succeed!

After saying this, the interviewer on the side shook his head and asked: Is there anything else you want to say? Yang Kaihui did not hesitate and ended the interview with "No more!"

Since Yang Kaihui was arrested and imprisoned, many people outside have been thinking of various ways to save her. Yang Kaihui's brother even asked people in Nanjing to ask Zhang Shizhao, Cai Yuanpei, Tan Tingkai and other prestigious people to rescue Yang Kaihui.

Under pressure from the outside world, He Jian decided to suspend Yang Kaihui's execution and ordered not to harm her.

Many books will say that Yang Kaihui suffered inhuman torture in prison and was beaten to death. This statement lacks certain evidence.

As for why He Jian gave "preferential treatment" to Yang Kaihui, there are two main factors

One: Due to external pressure, Zhang Shizhao and others jointly put pressure on He Jian, asking him to release Yang Kaihui. He Jian had to consider the impact. He could neither let Yang Kaihui die in prison nor let her go.

Second: Ren Zhuoxuan, a traitor who once served as Secretary of the Hunan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, offered advice to He Jian in order to claim credit: If Yang Kaihui can surrender, it will be better than ten thousand people surrendering. We cannot execute her so quickly, it will take some time.

Therefore, the chief officer responsible for interrogating Yang Kaihui told her that as long as Yang Kaihui could break away from Mao Runzhi, she would be free and save her life.

Yang Kaihui, who has faith, resolutely rejected the enemy's request. She said: I would not regret dying, and I hope the Runzhi Revolution will succeed as soon as possible!

Since the "Wanwan News" interviewer talked with Yang Kaihui, Yang Kaihui could already feel that her time was running out and the enemy would not let her go.

At that time, most of the Mao and Yang families were no longer in Changsha. Yang Kaihui’s sixth aunt also lived in Changsha. She asked around about things in the prison and asked her daughter to visit Yang Kaihui in prison.

Yang Kaihui said to the relatives and friends who came to visit the prison: I have a piece of green cloth in the house. Make me a dress. I will wear it when I go on the road. My father has taught me that when someone in the Yang family dies, you must behave appropriately and not behave like a common person. .

Yang Kaihui refused to let go. He Jian believed that the longer the matter was delayed, the easier it would be to create a passive situation.

In order to kill Yang Kaihui, He Jian created various rumors and suppressed telegrams from Nanjing. In the end, Yang Kaihui originally wanted to be "beheaded in public", but He Jian changed it to "shooting, and the body was exposed for three days."

Yang Kaihui's sacrifice - being shot twice and then shot again

On November 14, 1930, that day He Jian wanted to He went on a killing spree, and many revolutionary masses died under his gun.

In the morning, He Jian's Royal Forest Army Secret Service Battalion No. 4 received orders and was responsible for shooting Yang Kaihui.

Supervisor Yan Guowang issued an order and said to the agents around him: The person we have to deal with today is special, so we must be extra vigilant and not be careless!

The agents were armed with live ammunition, and four or five people including Luo Guolin, Yao Chuzhong, and Huang Zhengbang escorted Yang Kaihui.

Faced with death, Yang Kaihui was not afraid at all. She was upright and ladylike, and walked over without changing her expression.

The special agent escorted Yang Kaihui to Li Qiong, the director of law enforcement. He signaled Yao Chuzhong to loosen Yang Kaihui's bonds, and then took off her coat, leaving only a thin cyan underwear.

Then, Li Qiong picked up a document, read it to Yang Kaihui, and went through the entire pre-execution process, which took about five minutes.

The agents tied up Yang Kaihui, inserted the "sticker" into the back of her neck, put her in a car, and drove straight to the execution ground, Literacy Ridge.

Along the way, Yang Kaihui was "displayed" for an hour. She remained silent, using silence to express the anger and hatred in her heart.

Arriving at the execution ground, Yan Guowu gave the order for execution. The executioner Shuai Baoyun raised the shell gun in his hand and shot Yang Kaihui twice in the chest from behind.

Yan Guowu was startled, looked at Yao Chuzhong next to him, and asked him to immediately take someone to replenish the gun.

Yao Chuzhong led two people straight to Literary Ridge and saw Yang Kaihui crawling on the grass and struggling. Her mouth was full of mud and sand, her hands and fingers were dug into the soil, and there was still a trace of breath.

Seeing this scene, the cold-blooded Yao Chuzhong showed no mercy and did not intend to let Yang Kaihui go. Yao Chuzhong took out his shell gun and shot Yang Kaihui, and she died.

After the liberation of the country, Yao Chuzhong knew that he had sinned deeply and could only hide his name in order to survive. But God is watching what people do. In 1970, Yao Chuzhong's identity was discovered and he was imprisoned in the farm for reform.

When the police had strong evidence, Yao Chuzhong could only confess the process of killing Yang Kaihui, crying for his parents and begging for his life. The crimes committed by

required a due price. In July 1974, after four years of investigation, Yao Chuzhong was sentenced to death by the court and executed immediately.

Yao Chuzhong was shot, and it was entirely his own fault, and he could not blame anyone else.

Yang Kaihui died for a month. Chairman Mao was devastated after learning the news in Ruijin. He expressed his condolences: Kaihui's death can never be redeemed.

After the founding of New China, Chairman Mao often missed Yang Kaihui. In his reply to his old friend Li Shu, he wrote "I lost my arrogance and Yang Jun lost his willow."
