Wei Youzhu (1919-August 13, 2006) was born in Laiwu County, Shandong Province. Joined the Communist Party of China in 1937. During the Anti-Japanese War, he participated in the anti-"mopping up", anti-encroachment, and anti-blockade struggles in the Sulu-Henan Anti-Japanese Base Area, as well as the battles in central China to capture the Cheqiao Bridge and liberate Yancheng HT2. During the War of Liberation, he participated in three campaigns to the south of the Yangtze River, four campaigns to protect the Linjiang River, four campaigns to defend the Han Dynasty, four offensives to the Northeast, summer, autumn and winter offensives in the Northeast, as well as battles in Liaoshen, Pingjin, Dujiang, Guangzhou, Guangdong and Guangxi. After the founding of New China, he participated in the battle to liberate Hainan Island and contributed to the revolution, modernization and regularization of our army. He was promoted to the rank of major general in 1964 and was awarded the Second-level Independent Medal of Freedom, the Second-level Liberation Medal, and the First-level Red Star Medal of Merit and Honor.
Li Jitai (1919-January 22, 1985) was born in Sanli Village, Chengguan, Wucheng County, Shandong Province (now the ancient city of Hebei Province). In October 1937, he participated in the Jinpu detachment of the 129th Division of the Eighth Route Army's eastward anti-Japanese advance column. In July 1938, he joined the Communist Party of China. He participated in the Siping Defense Battle, Liaoshen Battle, Pingjin Battle, Heng (Yang) Bao (Qing) Battle, and several battles to resist U.S. aggression and aid Korea. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, he served as minister of the Third Ministry of Machinery Industry of the State Council and commander of the Air Force of the Beijing Military Region. In September 1955, he was awarded the rank of senior colonel. In 1957, he was awarded the Second Class Independence Medal of Freedom of the People's Republic of China and the Second Class Liberation Medal. In August 1961, he was awarded the rank of Major General.
Sun Qianqing (January 1919 - January 5, 2019), formerly known as Sun Chunchen, was born in Linzi County, Shandong Province (now Zibo City, Zibo). He once served as a soldier, squad, platoon, company and battalion commander of the Shandong Column of the Eighth Route Army. After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, Sun Qianqing went north with the People's Liberation Army and was reorganized into the Northeastern Democratic Alliance Army. He successively served as the commander of the Northeast Field Army and the chief of staff of the Fourth Field Army Division. He participated in the Siping Defense War and Linjiang, Liaoshen, Pingjin, and Battles such as the liberation of Hainan Island. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, he served as chief of staff of the Guangzhou Military Region, chief of staff of the Kunming Military Region, and consultant to the headquarters. Xiong Xianghui (April 1919-September 2005), formerly known as Xiong Huiquan, was born in Ye County, Shandong Province (now Laizhou City, Shandong Province). He is an outstanding member of the Communist Party of China, a proven and loyal communist fighter, and the former Party Secretary and Vice Chairman of China International Trust and Investment Corporation. Jin Fangchang (1920-December 3, 1940) was a native of Liaocheng, Shandong, and a Hui nationality. In 1936, he joined the Chinese National Liberation Vanguard and participated in the student anti-Japanese and national salvation movement. After the Marco Polo Bridge Incident in 1937, he followed his elder brother to Shanxi to participate in the Anti-Japanese War and studied at the Shanxi Anti-Japanese National Revolutionary University. He joined the Communist Party of China in 1938 and served as a member of the County Committee of the Communist Party of China and deputy director of the Propaganda Department. In the spring of 1940, he served as the secretary of the Central Committee of Dai County District 1 of the Communist Party of China. On November 22 of the same year, when he and Zhou Zhiyuan, captain of the District Brigade of the Self-Defense Forces, were transferring public grain in Daxizhuang, Dai County, they were surrounded by the enemy. After a fierce battle with the enemy, he was arrested after running out of ammunition and detained in the county seat of dai County. In prison, he denounced the enemy's attempts to persuade him to surrender and allowed himself to be tortured to extract confessions. He remained steadfast and unyielding. He was killed on December 3, 1940, at the age of 20.
Jiang Minfeng (April 1920 - November 27, 2003) was born in Huang County (now Longkou), Shandong Province. In 1938, he served as director of the Huangxian District Youth Salvation Association. He joined the Eighth Route Army in 1939 and joined the Communist Party of China in the same year.After the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War, he participated in the anti-mopping battles at Gaoluoshan, Kunxinshan, Facheng, Dashi, Liugezhuang, Qigezhuang, Wandi, Mocheng, Yushan, and Mashishan. During the liberation war, he participated in the summer, autumn and winter offensive operations in Northeast China's famous three-guarantee Benxi, four-guarantee Linjiang and attacks on Anshan, Xingcheng, etc., as well as the Tashan Blockade. Promoted to the rank of major general in 1964. He was awarded the Medal of Independence and Freedom, Level 2, and the Medal of Liberation, Level 2. Ma Lixun (1920-1945) was born in Zichuan, Shandong (now Zichuan District, Zibo City). He came from a poor family and lost his parents when he was young. At the age of 12, he went to work as a hard worker in a coal mine. In April 1940, he joined the Eighth Route Army and was incorporated into the 12th Company of the 4th Detachment of the Shandong Column. He joined the Communist Party of China in May 1944. In July of the same year, he was awarded such honorary titles as "Special Combat Hero" and "Demolition King". In August 1945, he died heroically in the battle at Yancun, Teng County, Shandong Province, at the age of 25. In September of the same year, the Lunan Military Region of the Eighth Route Army named the platoon where Ma Lixun worked before his death as the "Ma Lixun Platoon" and Yan Village in Teng County as the "Lixun Village", and launched a "Ma Lixun-style blasting campaign" in the army.
Ding Zhao (December 14, 1920-March 28, 2015), formerly known as Ding Ersi, was born in Longkou City ( Huang County), Shandong Province. He joined the Eighth Route Army in 1939 and joined the Communist Party of China in the same year. Participated in the Anti-Japanese War and the War of Liberation. He once served as deputy political commissar of the 15th Airborne Corps and political commissar of the Chengdu Military Region Air Force Command Post. In 1955, he was awarded the military rank of colonel, the Second-level Medal of Independence and Freedom, and the Second-level Medal of Liberation. In 1964, he was promoted to the rank of Major General. In July 1988, he was awarded the "Independent Meritorious Medal of Honor" issued by the Central Military Commission.
Zhang Shaohong (January 17, 1920 - October 27, 2000), formerly known as Zhang Tingru, was born in a poor peasant family in Zhuyou Township, Laizhou City (Ye County), Shandong Province. He joined the "People's Anti-Japanese Forward Team" in 1937, joined the guerrillas in 1938, and joined the Communist Party of China in the same year. During the Anti-Japanese War, he participated in the battles of Shahe, Guojiadian, Shenbuzhuang, Rizhuang, Dayuanshang, Wencen, Hemaya, Zhaoyuan , and Heishan. During the War of Liberation, he participated in the battles of Menglianggu, Linqu, Sanhushan, Laiyang, Zhoucun, Weixian, Jinan, Huaihai, Dujiang, and Shanghai. He was awarded the rank of Air Force Colonel in 1955 and promoted to Air Force Major General in 1964. Zhang Chaozhong (March 5, 1920 - February 24, 2004), a native of Donglangwu Village, Shangtang Town, Qingyun County, Shandong Province, is the commander of the South China Sea Fleet of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy. Joined the Eighth Route Army in September 1937. Joined the Communist Party of China in November of the same year. During the Anti-Japanese War, he participated in the battles of Sishui City, Jin County, Ht1teng County Ht2, and Ht11Qiu County Htt2. During the War of Liberation, he participated in the battles to defend Lianghuai, Subei Xiaodianzi, Shandong Tai'an, Jining , Shatuji battles, and Henan Xuchang, Luoyang , Kaifeng , Suiqi battles and Huaihai battles. After the founding of New China, he participated in the Battle of Liberation of Jiangshan, the Battle of Jinma, and the Battle of East Chongwu. In September 1955, he was awarded the rank of Navy Colonel. Won the Medal of Independence and Freedom, Level 3, and the Medal of Liberation, Level 2. In July 1988, he was awarded the Chinese People's Liberation Army's Medal of Honor for Independence and Meritorious Service by the Central Military Commission.
