This family letter was written by the martyr Chen Tanqiu in February 1933. The original is now preserved in the Hubei Provincial Museum and is a red first-class cultural relic.
At the beginning of 1933, the organization decided to let Chen Tanqiu and his wife Xu Quan work in the Central Soviet Area. At this time, Xu Quanzhi was about to give birth and the child in Chen Zhiyuan was inconvenient to transfer. Chen Zhiyuan was born in Shanghai in April 1933. Just over two months later, his mother was arrested and imprisoned by the Kuomintang authorities, and died in Nanjing Yuhuatai in February of the following year. When Chen Zhiyuan was 10 years old, his father Chen Tanqiu was arrested in Xinjiang.
