Have you used the wrong version of PlayStation version of Destiny 2?
Developer Bungie stated in its latest blog post that a "decent number" of PlayStation 5 players are actually still playing the PS4 version.
As early as 2020, the game released the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S upgraded versions, providing better visual effects and frame rate .
For Xbox users, this is very simple. Just load the game through the intelligent delivery system on the necessary console to download and install it to the corresponding version.
For PlayStation users, you need to download it separately on PS5, as listed in Sony in its support page. This is so unclear that Bungie feels it is necessary to point it out.
"We noticed that there are quite a few PS5 players playing the PS4 version of Destiny 2 on their current console. For the best PlayStation experience, be sure to check out the resources here, upgrade to the free PS5 version and see how the frame rate and overall image improve," it said in a blog post, linking to Sony's support page.
The blog post also notes that the visual effects of the game on Xbox One and PS4 have been adjusted to "reduce memory footprint with minimal quality drop."
In addition, Bungie warns players on Stadia that access to characters will be closed on January 18, 2023, so an archive save for another platform should be established so that the game will continue to be played elsewhere. After this date, if cross-platform archives on Stadia are disabled, access to this portion of the data will be lost.
