PS4 and PS5 "God of War: Ragnarok" sneaked away two weeks before its official release, which allowed some players to enjoy the long-awaited game in advance, but for more other players, there was a risk of being spoiled. After the producers criticized the retailer, today (October 31), the game's developer, Santa Monica, officially issued a message asking players not to spoil.
In the official announcement, Santa Monica Studio wrote:
When we are about to release, it is important for our studio to save the game experience of "God of War: Ragnarok" because players want to enjoy the game for the first time without spoilers.
We hope you can take into account fans who don't want to accidentally see game clips, gameplay or spoilers and avoid sharing them more widely.
We are doing our best to limit the exposure of unauthorized videos and screenshots, but the reality is that we cannot capture everything.
For those who don't want to risk seeing anything before release, we strongly recommend that you block all game-related keywords or tags before release date.
We are very grateful for the support you have given us. We can assure you that it is worth it to experience the game yourself when it is officially released on November 9th.
