The original text is as follows:
Along with the update of the content of the "Age of Dragons", we have made comprehensive changes to the HUD and UI of "World of Warcraft". Our goal is to provide a simple and beautiful layout and allow players to customize HUD to better meet their own needs.
Brand new appearance
Since we developed the first UI in 2004, the technology has made significant progress. Now we have better tools to create and improve these features related to the gaming experience. Now is a good opportunity to present these changes together with the content update of the "Dragon Age" content. We hope to use a modern style to interpret the layout appearance of players, and to use the same fashionable appearance to retain the charm and personality of the original design.
With these changes, players will immediately notice more obvious changes. For example, minimaps and life bars have become more conspicuous, and we have also removed some messy elements to provide more browsing space. And while retaining the iconic design, we also adjusted the appearance of the action bar. We added a brand new set of griffin patterns to the action bar, and for the tribal heroes, we also created a new bipedal flying dragon pattern. The display of loot and inventory also has a new look, and players can use the combination backpack function to help them find items in the inventory faster, making it easy to organize.
Do it yourself
Welcome to editing mode. In edit mode, you can adjust, personalize and move almost any interface element as you like. Not only are the various elements of HUD able to move freely, but even each independent element contains multiple options to help you set everything until you are satisfied.
After you set the interface to your favorite look, you can choose to name, save, edit, copy and share it to the community. And for those players who often switch specialization, this feature can also record the specialization you chose at that time. When you switch specialization, this function records and loads the HUD layout corresponding to the specialization you selected. Will this new feature of
completely replace third-party plug-ins? Not at all. We realize that plugins bring many opportunities for a custom experience to players, but not all players use the plugin. However, with the help of the user research team, we are committed to meeting the needs of the community. So we add some elements provided by some plugins to the base UI. However, players can continue to use their favorite plugins.
Optimize ease of use, making things simpler
Optimize ease of use for players function is the most priority in the new UI design . We attach great importance to allowing players to get a better gaming experience in various ways. The following changes are what we developed to optimize ease of use:
New option: Hold down casting - When this option is enabled, players can hold down the corresponding shortcut key on the action bar on the keyboard to continuously cast spells, and There is no need to cast the spell by repeatedly pressing the keys.
new feature: interactive keys—Pressing interactive keys allows you to use keys to interact with NPCs and items instead of clicking the mouse. When you are close enough to an interactive NPC or item, an icon will appear on their heads.
New Target System: Action Battle-This function will operate simultaneously with the basic target selection function, and the enemy will be automatically selected when you approach the enemy. This will allow you to cast your skills immediately and dynamically switch your targets across multiple targets facing you.
Looking forward to the future
Improve the UI will be a continuous project; we want to continue to make changes and optimizations. In addition to continuing to polish the current range of features, we also want to deal with many other UI elements and further roll out more features. For example:
Additional editing mode options
Team manager
Team frame
Task tracker
There are more art updates
As the "Dragon Era" approaches, we will bring more relevant information and functions Details. We look forward to your feedback after you have experienced these changes and content.
