Last week, I began to tell you the story of individual card design in Dominaria: Unite to the whole . I will tell you more today (and next week).
Awakening Nightmare Breed
Breed's first appearance was in Odyssey html l4, she is a fear-like mage who works for the Ke Bang.
Her card is very popular and continues to be widely used in the game system that can be used. Later, she got a parallel space-time card in Space-time Chaos , depicting her appearance if she had not joined the Ke Gang.
Breed returns in Dominaria: Unite to , but has changed a lot. This is her first version:
Dimensional percher Breed (#1st version)
{two}{black}{black}
Legendary creature~human/nightmare
3/3
in each The start of the player's turn When the player sacrifices a non-terrestrial permanent or discards a card. If the card sacrificed or discarded is a historical record, the player loses 2 lives and the controller of the name of the card gains 2 lives.
The first version of Breed is very close to her original version of the cards. As mentioned above, this card is widely used, so we designed a similar feeling for her new card. This version adds additional sacrifice and links to the historical site—a mechanism originally designed to bring back by the design team.
Dimensional inhabitor Brede (No. 2 version)
{three}{black}{black}
Legendary creature~human/nightmare
3/3
When~ brand name~enter the battlefield When checking each player's hand . During the period when you control the name of the card, you can exile a biological card from each player. Copy products that were exiled by this method were sent out, but they were all nightmares and had "If you do not control creatures with the name of ~ brand name, sacrifice this creature."
The next version of
began to take a different path. The card takes advantage of her idea of being a Summoner of Fear, where she can "steal" creatures from her opponent's hands and turn them into nightmare. Since this is a very powerful effect, the design also requires that Brad must stay on the field so that the opponent can have a way to respond to the threat.
Dimensional inhabitor Brede (#3rd version)
{two}{black}{black}
Legendary creature~human/nightmare
2/2
At the beginning of your maintenance, sacrifice A magical artifact, creature or Pinluo . Then send out magic stone derivatives equivalent to their total mana cost (, they are artifacts with "{horizontal}: plus {colorless}. You cannot pay for this mana to cast spells." )
{ X}{black},{horizontal}, exile~ card name~: You grind X cards, and then transfer at most one artifact, a creature, and a planeswalker with a total mana cost less than or equal to X from your graveyard Move back to the battlefield.
The third version is taking another direction. It allows you to convert resources into magic stone derivatives and gives you a second ability to use those magic stone derivatives to move specific permanents from the graveyard back to the battlefield. I think this is another way of expressing fear like a summoning means. It is worth mentioning that at this time, in the archives, we try to use the Magic Stone derivative as "pre-use" Brothers Battle in the series. The Magic Stone Derivative has undergone a series of changes (I will introduce it to you when the preview of Brothers Battle ). This design uses some early expressions.
Dimensional inhabitor Brede (version #4)
{two}{black}{black}
Legendary creature~human/nightmare
2/2
At the beginning of your maintenance, sacrifice A magical artifact, creature or planeswalker . Send out magic stone derivatives equivalent to their mana value. ( They are artifacts with "{horizontal}: plus {colorless}. You cannot pay this mana to cast spells.")
Powerful ~{X}{Black}, discard another card with the name ~ card name ~: move at most a magical artifact with a mana value of X or less from your graveyard back to the battlefield, and then use the creatures and Planeswalkers perform the same process.
The next version has been added to Shengwei. predicts the future keyword power in allows you to discard additional legendary creatures to produce effects. I don't like the way that the vocal is used on this card, because it requires an extra amount to accomplish the core goal this card wants to achieve.
Dimensional inhabitor Breed (No. 5th version)
{two}{black}{black}
Legendary creature~human/nightmare
2/2
{hide}, sacrifice Another creature: equals the target mana value Or target creature cards with less than 1 plus the sacrificed creature mana value move back to the battlefield from your graveyard. This creature has an additional Nightmare creature category. This ability can only be activated at spell time.
The fifth version fine-tuned the first appearance was to inherit in , a card called Hell's Caretaker card. It lets you sacrifice creatures to move creatures from the graveyard back to the battlefield. Unlike Hell's Caretaker, this design connects the body shape of the sacrificial creature with the moved back. It also adds the Nightmare creature category for flavor reasons, but does not provide an easy way to track it.
Dimensional inhabitor Brede (version #6)
{two}{black}{black}
Legendary creature~human/nightmare
2/2
At the beginning of your maintenance, sacrifice A magical artifact or creature, and then choose one Item:
• Move the target artifact or creature card from your graveyard back to the battlefield with a target mana value equal to or less than 1 plus the mana value of the sacrificed permanent.
• Send two magic stones. ( They are artifacts with "{horizontal}: plus {colorless}. You cannot pay this mana to cast spells." )
The next version combines elements from previous versions, and is now a mod The "Enter the Battlefield" (ETB) effect of the group. I like to embed the sacrifices into the basic effects. Compared to earlier versions, this version also extends what you can sacrifice (now an artifact or creature).
sacrifices all (version #7)
{three}{black}{black}{black}{black}
spell
sacrifices all the permanent objects you control. Show equal amounts of cards from the top of your deck. Put all the land signs displayed in this way into the battlefield. Cast any number of spells displayed in this way. Put the remaining cards into your graveyard. The design team of
series then tried something slightly extreme. What if we do not show Breed's way of not a legendary creature, but a spell that shows all the damage she has done? I think this design is more red than black—the pattern transition of a wide range of permanents is something we would put on red (red also requires rare quirky effects).
Sorry to the fear of the image of Breed (version #8)
{a}{black}
Legendary creature~Nightmare/Spellmaster
2/1
Show your card at the beginning of your maintenance Kuding card, then sacrifice A permanent. If you show a card and sacrifice a piece of land, put that card into the battlefield. If you show a non-land card and sacrifice a permanent whose mana value is equal to or greater than that card, you can cast the card without paying its mana fee. If you do not use this method to put any card into the battlefield or cast a spell, draw a card.
series design then woke up and said, "Wait, the players will want another Brede card very much," so they changed the design back to the creature. This card, like in the past, uses more red space than black. The pattern change is more of a red rather than a black ability, but red can often control less than what the card does.The team then decided they wanted to extrapolate the scope of Brad’s mechanics, so they got the design that you can sacrifice permanents and convince your opponent to do the same thing as you. Buried's mana and body size are also increased.
Below is the illustration description for the painter about this card:
Set : Dominaria Color : with black spell未分文 Location : References and pgs.132–133 Inspired by Kebang Temple Action : Showcase Burede (p375), the new leader of Kebang. She used to be human, but now her body is completely made up of dark and chaotic nightmare energy, and her screaming face is covered with her body to her hands, and she burns from the inside like incense. In this illustration, she had just summoned the evil slave, leaning back slightly, giggling wildly, surrounded by the corpses of her followers, and her heads burst into pieces during the festival, and the curling white smoke came from Their necks (please don't have blood) flow out. The clothing of the followers was inspired by pg.139. Focus :Braid Scenario :Agitated evil
Arrogant giant
The next card has a very interesting story because he has gone through many changes.
History Book (No. 1 Version)
{1}{blue}
Artifact
{two}, {horizontal}: draw a card, and then discard a card.
{two}, {horizontal}, horizontally position two permanent objects that you control unmounted: draw a card.
Arrogant Giant is a rare creature, but at the beginning he was a very ordinary artifact in the archives. Basically, he allows you to plunder (trap cards and then fold), or draw cards directly if you have enough historic cards. Like Buried, he was still in the early stage of the series' insight design, and the historical sites were still in the series.
Looking for answers (#2nd version)
{three}{blue}{blue}
Moment Decoration ~If you control one with this For permanent objects with different colors of spells, they will be changed to grab four cards. The next version of this card has been changed from the artifact to the moment, and from using the historical mechanism to using the decoration mechanism. This is something we tried in Insight Design, but it has never been submitted to a series of designs (unlike the Historic Site). Decoration is the ability to reward you with another color (basically means you have a second color permanent). This card is still a card to draw, although it can be grabbed more cards at a time because it is one-time.
Looking for the answer (#3 version)
{three}{blue}{blue}
Spell
draw three cards. Filter 3 ({three}, exile this card from your hands or graveyard: divination 2. If this card is exiled from your hands, draw a card .)
The third way of expression, the third way Card category, the third mentioned mechanism. This card is still a card-grabbing spell, but now it is a spell. It uses filtering, a fine-tuning of a looping power that allows you to use from the graveyard as well. Screening is an attempt to understand design proposals as a smooth mechanism.
Tatova's wisdom (version #4)
{two}{blue}
Spell
Amplification{green}(You can pay extra {green} when casting this spell.) 2 Grab two cards. If the brand name has increased, you can use an additional land in this round.
The card is still a spell, but we were able to try the fourth mechanic - amplification at this position. I believe this version is from the early stages of the series design, where Erik Lauer and his partners are trying when and how to use the amplification that deviates from the color. This design feels more like a normal card than a non-normal card (yes, at this time the card is still in a non-normal position).
Sleeping Dream Spell (No. 5th Version)
{two}{blue}{blue}
Spell
horizontally position all creatures controlled by the target player.These creatures cannot be reset in the player's next reset step.
Come again, the design team tried to put in a reprint card. The dream curse of the dream appeared in the top and bottom design of Magic Card 2010, and was reprinted many times in the subsequent core series.
nap (version #6)
{blue}
spell
amplification {two}{blue}(you can pay extra {two}{blue} when casting this spell.)
The creature controlled by the target opponent on this card The next reset step of the hand cannot be reset. If the brand name has increased, at most three target creatures are placed.
This version is still a locking spell, but it is converted to a monochrome card with augmentation. It uses an interesting way to use the amplification—take two effects that will usually be put together and disassemble them so that if you only need one of them you can cast at a relatively low cost.
Fairy Group (#7th version)
{three}{blue}
Spell
Every time there is a moment and spell card in your graveyard, you will send a 1/1 blue color with flying power Immortal Derivatives.
The seventh version begins a completely different direction. It sends out fairy-spirited creatures, but it is regarded as a bonus for using many moments and spells. This is the first time that it has begun to change towards the creature spell. By the way, in design, we will regard the cards that make derivatives as creatures when calculating the ratio of creatures.
Fairy Group (#8th version)
{two}{blue}{blue}
spell
amplification {white} (you can pay extra {white} when casting this spell.)
There is one in your graveyard Zhang Shunji and the magic card sent out a 1/1 blue fairy-spirit derivative creature with flying supernatural powers. If this spell has increased, change it to every moment and spell card in your graveyard, send a 2/2 white knight derivative with alert ability.
The next presentation method adds a white increase that will create the second derivative. I think this is to use the white and blue wheels at that time to grasp the theme.
New Akif Dragon Monster (#9th version)
{1}{blue}U
creatures~Dragon Monster
*/4
amplification{three}{white}(you cast this spell You can pay extra for {three}{white }. )
Flying
~The power of the card name is equivalent to the number of moments and spell cards in your graveyard.
When the name of the card is entered into the battlefield, if this spell has increased, change it to every moment and spell card in your graveyard, send a 2/2 white knight derivative creature with alert ability.
This card finally became a biological creature. It is not much different from the previous version, except that there will be a creature with a mutable force, rather than a derivative creature with a mutable number (the main body of this spell). Similarly, you will find that this spell continues to change creatively because no one knows what they really want to do. I want to change from fairy to dragon beast because */4 really doesn't look like fairy.
New Akif Dragon Monster (version #10)
{three}{blue}{blue}
creatures— Dragon Monster
*/4
amplification{red} (When you cast this spell Additional payments can be made {red}.) The power of
flying
~card name~ is equivalent to the number of moments and spell cards in your graveyard.
When the name of the card is entered into the battlefield, if it has increased, grab any number of cards and then discard the equal number of cards.
Since we have all tried the green and white amplifications, why not try red? I think this is because the moments in the graveyard are in good coordination with the spells, and that is also a theme that appears in the red and blue prototype.
New Akif Dragon Monster (No. 11th Edition)
{two}{blue}{blue}

Flying
~brand name~ Power is equivalent to moments and spell cards in your graveyard number. The card version of
is simplified, only the basic version is retained without augmentation.
New Akif Dragon Monster (No. 12th version)

*/4
Flying
~brand name~ Power is equivalent to moments and spell cards in your graveyard number.
The moment you cast and the spell spell are reduced {1} to cast. The design team of
series decided to make this card better by adding a second ability. They really liked their performance now, so they decided to increase it to rare and remove a little mana from the cost. I want to change from dragon beast to giant spirit because it is improved to rare, because giant spirit is more gorgeous than dragon beast.
This is the illustration description of this card:
Set : Dominaria Color : Creature using blue mana html html html html html html html html html html html html html html html html html html wizard trunk trunk trunk trunk trunk trunk trunk trunk trunk trunk trunk trunk trunk trunk trunk trunk trunk trunk trunk trunk trunk trunk trunk trunk trunk trunk trunk trunk trunk trunk trunk trunk trunk trunk trunk trunk trunk trunk 6 Location : Outside the Tauraria Tower, like in 104–108 Same. Action : The domineering giant floating outside the tower of Tauraria, looking at us with arrogant eyes. It is recommended to add academic Taurarian style robes to the design, like those in 113 - except that part of them may be smoke, fog or magic. Focus : Giant Spirit Scenario : The omniscient creature (he knows) Notes: Giant Spirit can refer to 257
Fire brings Yaya
Next, it's time to talk about Yaya's design. Yaya Ballard's first appearance as a character was in the background narrative of a card in Ice Age . The surname is the name of a city in the Greater Seattle area (characters who only appear in the background narrative often don't have too much Spend more time on their names, especially in past times). She spoke with her own style and wisdom, and soon became a good character for the cardholder - even if she didn't have a card. Yaya finally got his legendary creature card in time vortex ( spy wizard Yaya Ballad ). She will then get her first planeswalker card ( Yaya Ballard ) in Spark Battle ( Flame Faming Fan Yaya ) .
She played a very important role in the story of Dominaria: Unite , obviously she needs a new card.
Diplomacy messenger Yaya (No. 1 version)

Legend Planeswalker~Yaya
Loyalty value~4
+1:~Brand name~right Any target causes 2 damage . Decoration ~ If you control a permanent object with a different color from this spell, it will cause 3 damage instead.
-2: 2 cards in bottle. Add {red}{red}.
-8: For the permanent you control and each color of the card in your graveyard, the name of the card will cause 3 points of damage to any target.
The first version of Yaya takes advantage of the traditional red Yaya space. She causes direct damage, can draw cards impulsively, and can also cause more direct damage. A little bit different in this design is that she takes advantage of her theme in a deck with other colors. Her +1 ability uses the decorative mechanism mentioned above, and the ultimate move will increase as you have more color strength.
Diplomacy messenger Yaya (No. 2 version)

Legend Planeswalker~Yaya

+1:~Brand name~Yeah Any target causes 2 damage . .
-3: Exile your deck to top two cards. You can use them from the exile zone this round. Each color of the creature you control and the cards in your graveyard will be added with {red}.
-8: For the creature you control and each color of the card in your graveyard, the name of the card is ~ cause 3 damage to any target.
The next version of
is a little bit shrunk in the extra color, and instead cares about the creatures you control and the creatures in the graveyard.
Diplomacy Messenger Yaya (No. 3 version)
{Three}{Red}
Legend Planeswalker~Yaya
Loyalty Value~5
You can view your library top cards at any time. You can use land cards and cast spells from the top of your deck. You cannot use land cards or cast spells from your hands.
+1: Grab a card and then randomly discard a card.
0: Add {red}.
-3: Put the top card of your deck in the graveyard. ~ Brand name ~ Inflicts damage equivalent to the total mana cost to the target creature or planeswalker.
The next version appears during the series design. How did I know? Because Yaya has changed from having three abilities to four abilities. You see, when assigning illustrations, you have to know whether this is a planeswalker with three abilities or a planeswalker with four abilities, because the illustrations are a little different between the two. The preset is three superpowers, but based on the reasons I will tell you the story later, we want to make something big on this version of Yaya, so we decided to make it into a four-point loyalty value. guest. I think Yaya is on the list of the first wave of illustration commissions, because we know she will appear in the story, and the art director asked about the series design—the high probability was Erik—they wanted a three or four abilities. Yaya, and Erik chose four superpower versions. Don't forget that when I say "power", I mean the number of rule boxes. One or more of these abilities may be static or triggered abilities.
This version takes a very different direction. Her static ability allows her to disrupt the top of the deck, and then each loyal ability will use that static ability. Her +1 ability allows you to draw the top card in the deck library, although there is the risk of randomly discarding one card (which we don't do very often). Her 0 abilities help you get the mana you need to cast spells from the top of the deck. The -3's ability designs a clever way to generate direct damage effects linked to the top cards of the deck.
Diplomacy messenger Yaya (#4th version)
{two}{red}{red}
Legend Planeswalker~Yaya
Loyalty value~4
Whenever you control a creature attack When hit, it faces any target Inflicts 1 damage.
+1: Send a 1/1 red monk derivative creature.
-1: Exile your library top cards. You can cast the card. If you haven't done this, ~Brand Name~ causes 2 damage to any target.
-6: You get the emblem of "You can cast a spell with a mana value less than or equal to the number of attack creatures you have in this turn without paying for their mana cost."
The next expression method is another completely different direction. This version focuses more on combat, and the static ability rewards you for attacking, and the +1 ability sends out derivatives that can be attacked later. Her -6 ability sends a badge that rewards you with attacks. As a flame wizard, Yaya always has some direct damage effect. I like -1 lets you choose whether you want the card or the damage effect.
Diplomatic messenger Yaya (No. 5th version)
{two}{red}{red}
Legend Planeswalker~Yaya
Loyalty value~4
+1: Send a 1/1 Red with supernatural powers Monk derivatives.
-1: Exile your library top cards. You can use this card. If you haven't done this, ~Ball Name~ deal 2 damage to the target player or planeswalker.
-2: Until the end of the turn, each creature you control receives "When this creature attacks, it causes 1 point of damage to any target."
-6: You obtain "You can cast mana value less than or equal to this one." During the turn you perform spells that attack the number of creatures without paying their mana costs” emblem.
Next version converts static power into loyalty power, allowing you to choose to use it with a fee. The final version fine-tuned a lot of superpowers, and +1 is the only one that remains unchanged. -1 The ability makes you impulsively choose two cards instead of one, and -2 ability places damage on a single creature instead of all your creatures, and can only fight creatures. The ultimate move was completely changed. As a supporter of the copy, I love this change.
This is Yaya's illustration description:
***Vertical Planeswalker ratio***Set : Dominaria Color 7: Legendary creature using red mana Location : in Kelton In the camp. The background is a brown tent. Action : Showing Yaya Ballard—the legendary flame warlock and planeswalker—is smiling confidently. Her staff emitted a glimmer of orange flame magic. Behind her were some brave and brave Kelton warriors. Perhaps she had fur characteristics on her clothes because she had been in the extremely cold north for a long time. Focus : Yaya Situation :Sarcastic, omniscient, and self-confidence. Note: Kelton can refer to 168–173, and Yaya can refer to 361. br / Special note : After that, all planeswalker commissions will need to meet the standard card frame and borderless design. Make sure the illustrations fit the two templates and make sure all relevant details are optimized in the middle of the standard template's card frame.
