Tianjin Binhai New District was successfully selected as the list of national demonstration cities for the construction of a strong intellectual property city. This is another honor that Binhai New Area has won in this field after being named a key city in the construction of the National Intellectual Property Operation Service System.
The National Intellectual Property Power City Construction Pilot Demonstration City in accordance with the requirements of the "Notice of the Office of the State Intellectual Property Administration on the Pilot Demonstration Work of the Construction of a Powerful Intellectual Property Power Country for Cities, Counties and Parks", and was generated through local application and recommendation, material review, expert review and other procedures. This time, Binhai New Area was rated as a demonstration city for the construction of a strong intellectual property city, marking that Binhai New Area has entered the first echelon of the construction of a strong intellectual property city in the country, and shoulders the important task of leading and driving the high-quality development of intellectual property work in the city.

According to the latest statistics, 27,786 patents were authorized in Binhai New Area and 90,562 valid patents, an increase of 39.3% and 25.2% year-on-year respectively; the total number of registered trademarks was 98,455, an increase of 14.8% year-on-year; 14,769 valid invention patents, an increase of 25.2% year-on-year; the number of invention patents owned by every 10,000 people in the region reached 71.44.
At the same time, the 23rd China Patent Award has also been released recently. A total of 11 units in Binhai New Area won 11 patents, and the number of award-winning projects accounts for 58% of the city, ranking first in the city. Binhai New Area won the China Patent Gold Award for the first time, the quality of patents has been improving year by year, and the regional innovation capabilities have been significantly enhanced.
