Sun Xiao introduced that the global economic and trade friction index in June was 273, at a high level, up 90 points from the previous month and 91 points from the same period last year. The global economic and trade friction index in six countries or regions is at a high level, namely India, the United States, Indonesia , EU , Brazil and the United Kingdom. China's global trade friction index continued to be at a low level, with the June index falling to 0.
From the perspective of sub-item measures, the import and export restrictions index ranks first. The sub-index of technical trade measures index, import and export tariff measures index and other restrictive measures index are also at high levels. From the perspective of the fields involved, it mainly involves motors and electrical equipment and their parts, mechanical equipment and their parts, vehicles and their parts, steel products, plastics and their products, as well as agricultural and food products such as edible vegetables, fruits, nuts and cereals.
Sun Xiao introduced that the global economic and trade friction index in the first six months of this year showed the following characteristics and trends. First, the global economic and trade friction index continued to be at a high level in the first half of this year; second, the United States is still the main initiator of global economic and trade frictions; third, the negative impact of the Ukrainian crisis has become a new incentive for economic and trade frictions; fourth, the product scope affected by global economic and trade frictions is becoming increasingly larger; fifth, the impact of economic and trade frictions is spreading to areas such as supply chain stability, food security, and financial transaction security.
Sun Xiao said that the world today's major changes that have not been seen in a century have accelerated its evolution, the international environment is complex, the world economy is in a downturn, economic globalization has encountered headwinds, and unilateralism, protectionism, is on the rise. In order to help Chinese enterprises effectively respond to economic and trade frictions and provide risk warnings and decision-making support, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade systematically tracks economic and trade measures in 20 countries (regions), and regularly releases global economic and trade friction index reports, which is the first in the world.
