The "Chinese" spirit of southern medicine enters the great health
Yunfu has a superior ecological climate and environment. According to statistics from authoritative departments, there are 1,152 species of medicinal plants in 686 genera and 204 families, and the southern medicine planting base covers an area of more than 1.2 million acres. At the same time, Yunfu is also a modern characteristic southern medicine experimental zone in Guangdong Province, and is among the first batch in the country and the first in Guangdong to be a “National Advanced Unit for Grassroots Traditional Chinese Medicine Work.”
In recent years, Yunfu has introduced the Guangdong Vocational College of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Guangdong Pharmaceutical University respectively, making Yunfu City the only prefecture-level city with three universities of traditional Chinese medicine besides Guangzhou.

From December 25th to 27th, the China International Traditional Chinese Medicine Forum and the Third Guangdong Province Southern Medicine Industry Conference were held in Yunfu. Compared with the past, this conference has a more "international style" - a strong lineup of experts participates in the conference, top 100 companies gather, global media linkage, domestic and overseas exchanges, release of industry authoritative results, display of Lingnan characteristic culture, and the new momentum of Yunfu's southern medicine industry to the Greater Bay Area and the world.
The heavyweight guest of the conference, Huang Luqi, deputy director of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and president of the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, has attended the conference for three consecutive years.
Regarding Yunfu, Huang Luqi "looks highly at it and loves it deeply." Yunfu hired a team of academician Huang Luqi to plan and design, lead research and tackle key problems, and build a national Chinese medicine germplasm resource bank from a high starting point. The germplasm bank plans to preserve about 20,000 kinds of germplasm resources in China and countries along the “One Belt and One Road”, totaling 1 million copies, by 2035.
Currently, Yunfu is focusing on establishing a pilot city in Guangdong Province to build a national comprehensive reform demonstration zone for traditional Chinese medicine, striving to become a national demonstration city for grassroots traditional Chinese medicine work, and building a national-level traditional Chinese medicine germplasm resource bank. When the China International Traditional Chinese Medicine Forum and the Third Guangdong Province Southern Medicine Industry Conference were held, Yunfu had just concluded an international stone exhibition.
From December 21st to 24th, the 19th Yunfu International Stone Technology Exhibition and the 13th Yunfu Stone Culture Festival arrived as scheduled. This international exhibition has been successfully held for nineteen sessions since its inception in 2000. With the continuous development of the Yunfu stone industry, the exhibition specifications, scale, and domestic and foreign influence are increasing year by year.

It shows the extraordinary stone art skills of Yunfu craftsmen.

It was listed as a masterpiece of Guangdong Intangible Cultural Heritage as early as 2007.
