Chuxiong Yi embroidery has a history of more than 1,700 years of inheritance, and is famous for its ingenious creativity, bold color matching and exquisite design. Chuxiong Yi nationality clothing is listed as a national intangible cultural heritage, and Yi nationality embroidery is listed as a provincial-level intangible cultural heritage .
In recent years, Chuxiong Prefecture has insisted on the creative transformation and innovative development of the excellent national culture of China, unswervingly accelerated the development of Yi embroidery characteristic cultural industry, and explored a new development path of "intangible cultural heritage + market products + tourism experience + employment and wealth".

Shanghai not only provides special funds to support the development of Chuxiong Yi embroidery industry, but also promotes the special display of Chuxiong Yi nationality clothing to appear on the " Shanghai Fashion Week " and " New York Fashion Week ".
