The company's business scope includes the development of new energy technology, sales of new energy vehicle battery swap facilities, battery sales, online energy measurement technology research and development, etc.
It is understood that before the company was registered and established, CATL had made many layouts in Guizhou Province.
In late October 2021, CATL signed the strategic cooperation agreement with Guizhou Province; shortly afterwards, CATL (Guizhou) New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. was registered and established with a registered capital of RMB 2 billion.

On December 24, 2021, the CATL Guizhou New Energy Power and Energy Storage Battery Production and Manufacturing Base Project (hereinafter referred to as the "Guizhou Project") started construction in Gui'an New District, Guiyang City. The total land area of the project is about 1,435 mu, with an annual design capacity of 60 GWh; the first phase of the project will be completed and put into production in the first half of 2023, and the entire Guizhou project is expected to be fully completed in 2025.
