The series of economic and social development achievements since the 18th National Bureau of Statistics released by the National Bureau of Statistics on the 28th showed that in 2021, my country's energy consumption per unit of GDP (GDP) decreased by 26.4% compared with 2012, with an average annual decrease of 3.3%, which is equivalent to saving and reducing energy from about 1.4 billion tons of standard coal.

report shows that my country's energy production structure has accelerated its transformation, and the proportion of clean energy continues to increase. In 2021, the installed capacity of non-fossil energy power generation exceeded that of coal-fired power for the first time, with an installed capacity of 1.12 billion kilowatts, accounting for 47% of the total installed capacity of power generation. The installed capacity of hydropower, wind power and solar power generation exceeds 300 million kilowatts, ranking first in the world for many years.
Natural gas , hydropower, nuclear power, new energy power generation and other clean energy sources in the energy production structure continue to rise. In 2021, the proportion of natural gas in total primary energy production reached 6.1%, an increase of 2 percentage points from 2012, and the proportion of primary electricity and other energy sources increased to 20.3%, an increase of 9.1 percentage points; while the proportion of raw coal was 67%, a decrease of 9.2 percentage points from 2012.
Energy consumption is accelerated by clean and low-carbon. In 2021, the proportion of coal in total energy consumption decreased from 68.5% in 2012 to 56%, a decrease of 12.5 percentage points; the proportion of oil increased from 17% to 18.5%, an increase of 1.5 percentage points; the proportion of natural gas increased from 4.8% to 8.9%, an increase of 4.1 percentage points; the proportion of primary electricity and other energy increased from 9.7% to 16.6%, an increase of 6.9 percentage points.
Per capita energy consumption level continues to improve. We have strong energy guarantee for people's livelihood. In 2020, my country's per capita living energy consumption was 456 kilograms of standard coal, an increase of 46.2% over 2012, with an average annual growth of 4.9%; per capita living electricity consumption increased by 7.3% annually, and per capita living natural gas consumption increased by 8.1% annually.
According to the report, in 2021, the total energy consumption of the country was 5.24 billion tons of standard coal, an increase of 30.4% over 2012, supporting the annual GDP growth rate of 6.6% with an average annual energy consumption growth rate of 3%.
