In the first half of this year: Ho Chi Minh City's goods trade deficit was US$6.5 billion
Vietnam "Customs Online" reported on July 13 that according to statistics from the Ho Chi Minh City Customs Bureau, Ho Chi Minh City's goods trade deficit in the first half of this year was US$6.45 billion.
In the first half of this year, the Ho Chi Minh City Customs Bureau handled customs clearance procedures for import and export goods totaling more than 73.15 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 10.64% compared with the same period last year (66.12 billion U.S. dollars).
Among them, the export volume reached 33.35 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of nearly 10%. There are 8 categories of key export commodities (export value exceeds 1 billion VND). Among them, the export value of three categories decreased slightly year-on-year: computers, electronic products and their parts fell by 6.61%; shoes fell by 1.54%, and rice fell by 3.4%. It is worth noting that: aquatic product exports increased significantly by 81.71% year-on-year; coffee increased by more than 50% year-on-year.
The import volume reached US$39.8 billion, a year-on-year increase of 12%, of which 9 key imported commodities increased year-on-year, especially refined oil and fuel products, which increased by 101.61% and 252.16% respectively.
