On July 5, the Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology announced that this year it will focus on promoting the construction of 9 projects with a total investment of 13.56 billion yuan to promote the high-quality development of the hydrogen energy industry.

The development of hydrogen energy industry is a major measure for the comprehensive reform pilot of our province’s energy revolution. According to the Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, by leveraging the advantages of resource endowment and industrial foundation to accelerate project advancement, nine projects are expected to complete investment of more than 4 billion yuan within the year. In the upstream coking industry, Shanxi Meijin Coal Chemical Co., Ltd.'s 1.8 million tons/year 6.78-meter tamping coking project will be completed and put into operation before the end of the year; Shanxi Lubao Group Coking Co., Ltd.'s 1.8 million tons/year 6.78-meter tamping coking project is accelerating and improving the project construction formalities. After the two projects are completed, they can form an annual coke oven gas production capacity of 720 million cubic meters, providing support for the comprehensive utilization of coke oven gas.

Midstream coke oven gas hydrogen production, the second phase of the Meijin Huasheng 20,000 tons/year high-purity hydrogen project will start construction this year and will be completed and put into operation in 2023; the Pengwan Hydrogen Port 17,500 tons/year high-purity hydrogen project will be completed and put into operation by the end of this year , providing sufficient hydrogen products for downstream hydrogen energy application scenarios. In terms of downstream hydrogen energy applications, the construction of Meijin hydrogen energy fuel cell power system and hydrogen fuel cell production projects will be accelerated to achieve an annual output of 10,000 hydrogen fuel cell systems and an annual output of 10,000 hydrogen fuel commercial vehicles. Components and an annual production capacity of 500,000 KW hydrogen fuel cell stacks; promote the completion of the Changgao Zhixing hydrogen energy equipment production base project in September 2023 to support the production of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles and modified vehicles in surrounding areas.

While expanding production capacity, we will also increase investment in innovation and research and development.
