First, Alipay opened its online scene to UnionPay Cloud QuickPass, covering 85% of Taobao merchants in the first batch.
In August of this year, Alipay has completed the research and development of the technology for accessing UnionPay Cloud QuickPass, and has gradually opened up online payment scenarios. The first open transaction scenario is the Taobao platform. At present, 85% of Taobao shops already support consumers to pay via cloud flash payment. Users who install the Cloud QuickPass app can directly choose "Cloud QuickPass" to pay at the Alipay cashier after submitting an order on Taobao Shopping.
Secondly, Alipay and Cloud QuickPass recognize each other by scanning codes. Alipay and China UnionPay will begin close communication and exploration based on the bar code interconnection business in 2020, and will gradually promote them after completing the pilot verification at the end of 2020. At present, in many cities across the country, including Beijing, Tianjin, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Chongqing, and Xi'an, mutual recognition of the payment code scanning has been achieved, and it is planned to cover all cities across the country in March next year.
