These eight hexagrams represent eight tangible things respectively: Qian - sky; Kun - earth; Zhen - thunder; Gen - mountain; Kan - water; Li - fire; Xun - wind; Dui - -Ze.
This correspondence is the ancient Chinese’s understanding of the world. Heaven, earth, thunder, mountains, water, fire, wind, and lake are important objects that people came into contact with in ancient times. They have become the hexagrams of the Eight Diagrams, which shows that the "Book of Changes" explains the changes in all things through the changes of the hexagrams and lines.
Through the previous copying, I have a preliminary understanding of "Zhouyi". "Book of Changes" uses the combination of yin and yang symbols to form the Bagua, which is then extended and combined into 64 hexagrams. Each hexagram symbolizes an object, and each hexagram has 6 lines, and these 6 lines reflect the different changing processes of the object. In the classics, each hexagram and line tells us about a state of things and provides warnings. It reflects the understanding of objective things and the method of promoting improvement. So it is not just divination as the folk think. It is understood that there are many categories and secrets of divination in the "Book of Changes". It does take a lot of energy and time to truly understand the classics. It is even more necessary to learn from a teacher in order to truly understand it.
