There are 384 lines in the sixty-four hexagrams of the Book of Changes. Each line is not isolated, but is connected everywhere.
Looking at one line alone, depending on the position of the line, there are two important concepts: being in position and winning.
The so-called being in position, also known as being right, means that the position of the line matches the nature of the line. The ancients regarded odd numbers as yang and even numbers as yin, so the first, third, and fifth digits were yang, and the second, fourth, and upper digits were yin. When the Yang Yao is in the Yang position or the Yin Yao is in the Yin position, it is in position. For example, the ninth day of the lunar month and the sixth day of the lunar month. And if it is the other way around, it is called improper position, such as the sixth day of the lunar month and the ninth day of the lunar month.
The so-called "getting the middle" means that the lines occupy the second and fifth positions. Because the second and fifth lines are in the middle of the lower hexagram and the upper hexagram respectively, they are impartial and have no faults and no shortcomings. Therefore, generally the lines that get the middle are very good. , which also tells us an attitude towards doing things.
2. The relationship between Yao and Yao
After talking about the relationship between Yao and bit, let’s talk about the relationship between Yao and Yao. In a hexagram, the relationship between Yao and Yao can be roughly divided into two categories, namely Cheng Cheng and Ying Yu.
The so-called Chengcheng refers to the relationship between two adjacent lines. The relationship between subordinates and direct subordinates is similar to that between direct leaders and direct subordinates.
The so-called correspondence refers to the relationship between the first Yao and the fourth Yao, the second Yao and the fifth Yao, and the third Yao and the upper Yao. Since they are in the same position in the lower hexagram and the upper hexagram, although they are not adjacent to each other, they are still connected. When the two corresponding lines are one yin and one yang, they will have a strong induction due to the attraction of opposite sexes, which is called compatibility.
3. The relationship between hexagrams and hexagrams

Zong Gua, also known as Opposition Gua and Fu Gua, refers to the hexagram formed by turning over a whole hexagram, such as Tun becomes Meng and Peel becomes Complex.
Mutual hexagram refers to the hexagram formed by taking the hexagram composed of the third, fourth and fifth lines of a hexagram as the upper hexagram, and the hexagram composed of the second, third and fourth lines of the hexagram as the lower hexagram. For example, the third, fourth, and fifth lines of the Fu hexagram are the Xun hexagram, the second, third, and fourth lines are the Gen hexagram, and their mutual hexagram is the Fengshan Jian hexagram.
