Ice silk fabric is affordable and feels extra cool, smooth and breathable when in contact with the skin. Many people are curious, what exactly is "ice silk" made of? Why does it give us a cold feeling?
What does "ice silk" mean?
In fact, there are currently no relevant national standards and textile industry standards to clearly define the concept of "ice silk". "Ice silk" is just a trade name used for marketing.
The raw materials of "ice silk" are actually not that magical. The main ingredients come from our most common man-made fiber - viscose fiber .
Simply put, viscose fiber is made from various natural fibers, such as cotton, wood, etc., and is reprocessed. It is a man-made natural fiber. In addition to viscose fiber,
is woven with chemical fibers such as polyester (also known as polyester fiber ) and nylon (also known as nylon).
It retains the advantages of natural fibers such as cotton fiber. Its hygroscopicity meets the physiological requirements of the skin. It has the characteristics of smooth and cool, breathable, antistatic, colorful, and good dye fastness.
After modification, viscose fiber can also have special UV resistance, making it very suitable for making summer clothing.
Why does it feel cool?
Ice silk has a stronger moisture absorption capacity than cotton, so it is easier to absorb sweat and keep the skin cool.
There is also a type of cool fabric, which is essentially artificial fiber.
If some nano-scale jade, composite ore, etc. are added to the spinning raw materials, because the ore has strong thermal conductivity, the silk will have an ice-cold feeling when it comes into contact with the skin. It's a bit chilly now, so I used this special fabric.
However, here we talk about a technical term for textiles - instant cooling sensation on contact : "The moment the skin comes into contact with the fabric that is lower than its temperature, it causes rapid loss of heat on the skin surface and an instant drop in temperature, and then passes through the temperature-sensing nerves in the skin The cooling sensation is formed after the peripheral parts are reflected to the brain."

How to wash and care for ice silk?
Ice silk clothing is generally light-colored, but due to its good hydrophilicity, it is easy to be stained with dirt, and some dirt may penetrate into the fiber. Therefore, if worn for too long, there will be many residual stains that cannot be washed thoroughly.
You can use ordinary washing powder to wash ice silk clothes. It is of course better to use neutral detergent . Be sure not to use alkaline detergent. The washing temperature should not be too high, no more than 40ā.
In addition, ice silk clothing will gradually become hard after being exposed to sunlight and air for a long time, and the feel is not soft enough. Therefore, ice silk T-shirts need to be treated with softener after being washed several times.
