What's so good about big cities? Or, to ask more accurately: How big is the gap between a large city like Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and a small city of the third and fourth tiers?
Let me give you an example from my own experience.
From 2019 to 2021, I took Dumb to see the Ultraman exhibition 3 times, respectively in Shanghai, Nanjing, and Changzhou, which happened to be a window of observation.
1. That trip to Shanghai was too worthwhile
The first time I went to Shanghai, in March 2019.
At that time, the 3-year-old Duan had just become obsessed with Ultraman.
One day, I accidentally saw news that "Ultraman" was going to Shanghai Hongqiao Longhu Tianjie for activities.
The promotional posters are very attractive. They were held in China and Shanghai for the first time. There were meetings with Uub, Ultraman and others, models, hand-held exhibitions, and so on.
So, my old father bought a high-speed rail ticket on impulse, and rushed to Dui happily.
I know very little about Ultraman, and I have followed Duan for a few episodes before. When saw the exhibition site in Shanghai, I felt that it was a worthwhile trip.
Feast your eyes, it’s worth it.
There are too many models, figures, posters, and toys on site. I, a layman, made up a lesson. The atmosphere of the meet-and-greet is also very good, and Dumb riding on the horse even shook Ultraman's hand.
Then,Dui and I went home contentedly.
2. Nanjing’s momentum is smaller
Later, I paid special attention, and soon discovered that after Shanghai, other cities are also holding similar events.
The organizers seem to be the same, and the venues are basically large shopping malls like Longhu Tianjie . The general model is meet-and-greet performance + model exhibition + on-site sales.
In May of this year, I saw Nanjing also have it. So, one weekend, I took Dui again.
From the first floor to the fourth floor, the onlookers are crowded with children. There are also many models on the exhibition and many peripheral products for sale.
After a lapse of two years, the 5-year-old dumb has already figured out how to deal with Ultraman.
This time he has a lot more energy than two years ago. Dumb and I are very happy. I waited in line for 40 minutes, went into the sales area and bought a mechanical Ultraman, and walked around the exhibition area three or four times before leaving.
But it is strange to say that in my impression, I always vaguely feel that the scale, momentum and exhibits of this Nanjing event are also smaller, and the impact on me is not as strong as that of Shanghai.
I remember that in Shanghai, there were more than a dozen large models placed in shopping malls and aisles, but in Nanjing, it seemed that only one was placed at the gate.
3. I tried my best to encourage friends to go together, but I was disappointed.
It happened to be the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, so in Shanghai and Nanjing, I once again ran with Dumb.
Before going, I tried to encourage a few friends to go together. I said, I have seen it in Shanghai and Nanjing. The models and products are very rich and it is worth taking a child to see.
Everyone rushed away. As a result, I didn't expect that the boats and carts would be overwhelmed and disappointed when they arrived at the scene.
The most disappointing thing is that the dazzling array of exhibitions with various Ultraman models is gone! In my opinion, that is the essence of the whole event.
At that time, I was afraid that my eyes were bad and I went to the wrong area. Dragging Ah Dui to search inside and outside the mall, only then gave up.
And although the on-site popularity is good, the place where the goods are sold is pitiful. It is about one-third the size of Shanghai and Nanjing.
There is no harm without comparison.
If I have never been to Shanghai or Nanjing, I would not know the difference between the same event and the same organizer.
The Shanghai event was a bit authentic, so I added a little water to Nanjing. What about Changzhou? It's simply a boiling faucet.
The reason I was reluctant to find out is that the whole event will last about a month, maybe this time there is no time to arrange it, it will be there in a few days. Is it true? I have no chance to verify it anymore.
4. Although they are all called "Coke", they are always tasteless
What is so good about big cities? Fortunately, the resources are abundant.
Everyone actually knows this. Education, medical care, and public facilities in big cities all exist at a crushing level. In large cities, there are hundreds of dramas a year, and in small cities, it may happen only once in a few years.
However, I didn't really realize before that, even if it is the same organizer and the same event, has different treatment in different cities.
In Shanghai, the organizer attaches great importance to it. The models that should be on are all available, and all the stars that should be on are here. When I arrived in Nanjing, it seemed to have shrunk a bit.
When we arrive in Changzhou, it is a big slash, only selling goods and a little performance.
Is it that Changzhou children don’t like Ultraman exhibitions? Isn't it worth watching? Of course neither.
From the organizer's point of view, I have to consider the cost.
Shanghai can sell 10 million at a time, Nanjing 8 million, and Changzhou only 2 million. The arrangement of the exhibition is also very troublesome. If you can’t make ends meet, you can simply cancel and leave some for the goods. NS.
To make an analogy, it is like watching an IMAX martial arts blockbuster in a big movie theater. Change to a small video room, not only the screen is smaller, but also the clips, easter eggs, and the most exciting fights are cut off.
It doesn't matter if there is no comparison. If, like me, I have experienced it, it's like drinking zero-degree cola without sugar. Although they are called "Coke", they always taste almost the same.
by extension,Why do many people like to live in big cities, and many people want to use the power of the whole family to let their children go to school in the big cities? The answer is self-evident.
Today's Interaction
Have similar events been held in your local city? Why do children like Ultraman? Welcome to leave a message and chat.
(a digression that I have to say: I have shared with my friends about bringing children to the Ultraman exhibition. Some people say that when I was young, I was exposed to Japanese products and traitors were traitors to my children. I will say directly about this. Here is my attitude and position: Japan and China are separated by a thin strip of water and have a deep relationship. Since modern times, it has committed heinous crimes in China. We should always remember and reflect on it. But remembering and reflecting does not mean that we cannot appreciate and study its products. I can’t be self-contained and blindly arrogant. I have watched the Ultraman exhibition three times, and I deeply feel that Japan’s industrial processes are very mature in the development of animation products. We have super IPs such as Dasheng, Nezha, Water Margin, and Three Kingdoms. What a great resource, it is very promising and worth looking forward to. I am not very interested in animation, but I can use this to encourage the next generation, remember history, respect opponents, learn from the strengths, and continue to work hard after watching the exhibition. National interests In front of you, there is no doubt standing in China. This is the way to go. What do you think?)
