The story tells that Santiago, a young shepherd boy, had two identical dreams. He dreamed of Egypt and the pyramids, so he went to a gypsy girl to interpret his dreams. Following the advice of the gypsy girl, he set out on his way to Egypt. After being defrauded of money, he met the crystal shop owner. The story of the crystal shop owner allowed him to embark on a journey to pursue his dream again. Of course, this was also due to the revelation of the King of Salem - the soul of the world and destiny. Santiago is going to find his destiny.

On his way through the Sahara Desert , he met the British aristocrat Woodville and the desert woman Aziz who were looking for the alchemist. Arriving at the oasis, he met his true love again - the oasis girl Fatima. Fatima allowed him to understand the language of the desert and appreciate the connotation of wind and gravel. Woodville finds the Alchemist, but the Alchemist is looking for Santiago.

Santiago saw two eagles fighting each other and saw war in his fantasy, so he went to see the leader at Fatima's request and reported the vision. However, the leader did not take it seriously.
