Everyone is familiar with a sentence: "Monarch, minister, father, son." Many people took it Understood as foolish loyalty and foolish filial piety, in fact, this is not what Confucius meant. This sentence comes from the Yan Yuan chapter of "The Analects". Qi Jinggong asked Confucius how to govern, and Confucius responded.

Confucius means that a ruler must be like a ruler, a minister must be like a minister, a father must be like a father, and a son must be like a son.

In other words, if you are a leader, you have to look like a leader and set an example to others in terms of virtue and other aspects. If you are an employee or subordinate, you must do your job well. The same is true at home. Parents should be like parents and set an example for their children. Children must look like children and fulfill their responsibilities.

In this way, from the family to the society, everyone has their own part, dedicated themselves to their duties, and do their part well, and the whole society will be stable and orderly and able to develop harmoniously.

"Junjun, ministers, father, father, and son" does not mean that the subordinates must absolutely obey the superiors. It does not mean that the superiors can do whatever they want without any restriction. The superiors must let the subordinates do anything, and the subordinates must obey.

From the perspective of the entire "Analects", Confucius has higher requirements for those in the upper ranks. Those in the upper position must be the role models for those in the lower position. They must have higher virtues, and they must "do politics and morals."

Therefore, "junjun" is the prerequisite, and then the ruler should be like the ruler before the minister is like the minister. There is a saying that "the upper beam is not right and the lower beam is crooked". How can the people above do not do well, how can we ask the people below to do well? The same is true in the family, "the father is kind to the son and filial piety", first is "the father's kindness", and then there is the "child filial piety."

Therefore, "junjun, ministers, father, father, son" is to let everyone do their jobs and perform their duties, and the first thing to do is to be in the upper ranks.

The prince is like the prince, the father is like the father, then the minister is like the minister, and the son is like the son. In this way, the family can be harmonious and the society can be harmonious.
