This group of people who eat in the dining group include an outdated movie star, a group of brothers from the financial world, an old couple and a food critic, who don’t speak on the way they come. They are all excited to have a meal prepared by chef Slovik (Ralph Fiennes), known for creating unique cooking that can’t be found anywhere else. Slovik works with an almost army-like team of chefs, and Slovik welcomes them all in an increasingly sinister tone, which is strange to Margot, but other guests who didn't care at first basically overlooked it. These diners simply don't know that they will soon appear on menus specially prepared for them.
Facts have proved that Slovik intends to kill himself and everyone at the banquet. He no longer has fantasies about his work and plans to do something big. Margot is the first to get things straight, we learn that she isn't Taylor's girlfriend at all, and when Taylor's ex-girlfriend left, Taylor hired Margot to dine in this restaurant with him, and worse yet, Taylor actually knew they were all going to die here.
When we find out that Taylor's admiration for Slovik has reached the point where he is willing to die for him, he ignores his growing fear and obsession with Slovik. In fact, when Taylor was humiliated for not being able to cook, he was the first to leave and then hanged himself in shame. Margot is actually a working family, and she is unwilling to die here with the rest of these arrogant people and has developed a plan to escape. Previously, Slovik had told Margot that she had to choose which side to stand, but Margot still found herself trapped in the restaurant of Hell, and the clock slowly walked towards her death.
He is not only a chef, but also a storyteller
Margot is more resourceful than any other rich guest, and she quickly realizes what can provide her with the key to escape. After she did some searches at Slovik's restaurant, Margot discovered that he was not the owner of the fine restaurant. Instead, he made the burger and fries first, and he looked very happy when he did it, and with this information, Margot asked Slovik to make her one such burger. Although he seemed surprised at first, he then took it himself and with a nearly pious enthusiasm, as it was the last meal he had made himself. Margot took the meal away and then left the island by boat.
After Margot left, Slovik began the final stage of his murder meal, the last dish, which would eventually bring death to everyone who stayed in the restaurant, as he intended to bake them into a "human meat sandwich cake." He accomplished this with a cold and hilarious ending when all the guests and his fellow chefs gathered there. The subsequent explosion swallowed all of them in the blazing flames, Margot watched from a distance while she safely ate the last meal she had made by the dead Slovik.
This is a suitable ending, providing more reflection on how Margot got rid of death? Although Slovik was determined to kill Margot and the others, Margot asked Slovik to make a burger to express his understanding of Slovik and the things that have always troubled him. Slovik was disappointed with his work and alienated from his labor, and in capitalist society labor was exploited until they no longer understood why they were doing so. Margot is one of the only people who know this, giving Slovik a last chance to cook on his own. It wasn't a fancy meal, but a simple meal that was most important to him, because he loved making it.
All the recognition and praise Slovik received from rich guests is just a desperate pursuit of status rather than a decent cooking meal, which makes him disgusted with the entire catering system he is involved in. That night was to destroy all this, including destroying himself, so that he would not have to be involved.Before he finally destroyed, Margot was able to give him a last chance to create, which ensured that the film ended on a high tone. In the final moments of the film, we leave something more private and political to chew as Margot bites off the burger on the boat alone.
"Men" will be released in North America on November 18.
