In recent years, my country's general higher education has obviously had a surplus of talents. The problem of "employment difficulties" for ordinary undergraduate graduates and even graduate students has become more and more serious. In contrast, there is a general shortage of technical talents in all walks of life, so the state has increased its attention and investment in vocational education .
In order to cultivate high-level, high-skilled applied technical talents, the country began to explore the development of undergraduate-level vocational education. Before, there were no vocational undergraduate schools in our country, so the country gave preferential policies to encourage some powerful vocational colleges that are in line with local and even national industrial and economic development to upgrade to vocational undergraduate schools.
The Northeastern region is the earliest region to develop modernization in my country. Higher education is rich in resources and manufacturing, especially heavy industry, is developed. It has many high-quality vocational colleges. These schools are very suitable for upgrading to vocational undergraduate schools, such as Heilongjiang Agricultural Engineering Vocational College.
Heilongjiang Agricultural Engineering Vocational College is an old agricultural college. Its predecessor was the Northeast Mechanical Farm Technical Training Class founded in 1949. Since its establishment, the school has always focused on the main industry of "grain, economy, animal husbandry and fishery". Focusing on the key areas of planting, processing, storage and transportation, and sales, the five major engineering technologies of equipment, biology, digital, intelligence, and ecology are deeply integrated with agricultural technology to cultivate relevant technical talents for the country. It is known as the "Jinggangshan" of China's agricultural machinery industry and the "cradle" of China's agricultural machinery application talent training.
This school has the potential and strength to be upgraded to " Vocational University " regardless of its educational strength or characteristics. Now it is one step closer. It has merged with Heilongjiang Biotechnology Vocational College to form a new Heilongjiang Agricultural Engineering Vocational College.
The original Heilongjiang Biotechnology Vocational College is the only higher vocational college in Heilongjiang Province that integrates multiple disciplines and fields such as bioengineering, aquaculture, animal husbandry and veterinary training, and agricultural planting. The professional fields such as medicine, animal husbandry and veterinary medicine, aquaculture, and green agriculture have outstanding advantages. The professional settings of the two colleges are both overlapping and complementary. If the effective integration of resources can be achieved after the merger, the overall strength of the new Heilongjiang Agricultural Engineering Vocational College will definitely make a qualitative leap, and the upgrade to a "vocational university" is just around the corner.
There are many vocational colleges in Heilongjiang Province. Why did these two schools merge to attack "vocational colleges"? The author believes that this is the case. Agriculture is a key industry related to the survival of the country. There has always been a shortage of agricultural technical talents in our country. Heilongjiang Province is also a major agricultural province, known as "Beidacang". It is also the province with the best development of agricultural modernization in my country. It is in urgent need of high-level and high-skilled applied technical talents. It needs a local "vocational university" to specialize in cultivating agricultural technical talents.
In this context, it is the meaning of the title that Heilongjiang Agricultural Engineering Vocational College and Heilongjiang Biotechnology Vocational College have joined forces to form a new school and develop it into a "vocational university".
What do you think about the merger of Heilongjiang Agricultural Engineering Vocational College and Heilongjiang Biotechnology Vocational College and their upgrade to a "vocational university"?
