Preparing to build new universities has become a new development trend in various places
According to the Ministry of Education’s "All According to the "List of General Colleges and Universities in China", the number of general colleges and universities in my country has increased from 2,688 in 2019 to 2,759 in 2022, an increase of 71; undergraduate colleges and universities have increased from 1,688 in 2019 to 2,759 in 2022. The number of higher vocational (junior college) colleges increased from 1,423 in 2019 to 1,489 in 2022, an increase of 66. Specific to each region, some provinces and cities can be said to have started a "crazy" model of building universities. The "National List of General Colleges and Universities" shows that the number of colleges and universities in Shandong, Henan, Hunan, Guangdong, Sichuan and other provinces has grown particularly rapidly in the past three years.

In addition, according to incomplete statistics from the media, in the past two years, cities such as Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Suzhou, Hangzhou, Qingdao, and Jinan have been working hard to build universities. At least 30 universities (including colleges, graduate schools, and new campuses) have been included in the construction plan.
For students who will take the college entrance examination in 2023 or in the future, although there is no data from previous years for the enrollment of new colleges and universities, it is also an opportunity to miss out. Opportunities and risks exist, and students and parents need to make good choices.
