Little Librarian Experience Notes

This semester, my mother helped me sign up for the "Little Librarian for a Day" activity in the city library. The main job of the librarian is to help library staff organize books and provide services to readers. In the process of this practice, I not only learned to organize books and developed hands-on skills, but also enriched my after-school life. Among them, one thing touched me deeply.

It was noon on a Sunday. Because we didn’t go home at noon, the library provided free lunch coupons to us librarians. After finishing my work, I asked the library teacher for my lunch coupon. The teacher casually gave me the lunch ticket and went to do other things. After I took the lunch coupon, I found that our lunch coupon was originally 15 yuan, but the teacher actually gave me an extra 5 yuan lunch coupon. My heart suddenly jumped, and I held the extra 5 yuan lunch coupon in both hands, not knowing what to do. At this time, a thought invaded my mind: "Don't worry so much, go and eat quickly, no one will know." Just when I got up to go to the restaurant to eat, reason and conscience defeated greed. Parents and teachers have taught us to be honest since childhood. Mencius also said: "Honesty is the way of heaven. Honesty is the way of man." Even if it is not known to others, it cannot escape the scrutiny of conscience. After some ideological struggle, I stood firm and returned the extra lunch coupon to the teacher. "Teacher, you gave me an extra meal ticket." The teacher looked at me in surprise and said, "You are a good and honest boy!" I scratched my head in embarrassment, feeling as sweet as honey.

This incident also made me understand that as long as you treat others with sincerity and be an honest child, you can reap the joy of life.
