On December 24, the three-day 2023 National Master’s Degree Admissions Examination started as scheduled. In accordance with the special arrangements of the Ministry of Education and other three departments, all localities adopt the "one category, one policy" group examination model and set up examination centers in different categories to ensure that "exams are carried out as scheduled, all candidates are able to take the exam, and study safely".

At 7 o'clock in the morning, at the southeast gate of Peking University, candidates who came to take the postgraduate examination began to enter the examination center one after another. In Xi'an, Shaanxi, Northwest University's test center is the test center with the largest number of candidates in this year's postgraduate examination in Shaanxi Province. More than 5,400 people took the exam at the school's Chang'an campus alone. It's just dawn, and some candidates have already arrived at the campus by different means of transportation. They stand under the trees or on the roadside under the lights, reading materials, and make the final sprint before the exam. Qu Zeyu, a candidate who applied for the postgraduate examination of Northwestern Polytechnical University major in control science and engineering, told reporters that the three identity verifications when entering the school gate, entering the examination office building, and entering the examination room today were all very fast and smooth. In Guangzhou, South China University of Technology examination center has set up 259 examination rooms this year, and a total of 7,645 candidates took the examination. In order to reduce the gathering of people, the school dispersed the examination rooms to different areas of different campuses. It also prepared isolation gowns, masks, disinfectants and other epidemic prevention materials. In order to ensure that the exam is conducted smoothly and safely, South China University of Technology has invested nearly a thousand staff members in invigilation and security.

After the first exam, Xue, a Beijing candidate who applied for Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications , got the lunch he had reserved at the school in advance. "The ordering QR code launched by Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications allows candidates from other schools to enjoy ordering services and then eat at designated places in the school. The South Campus of Xi'an University of Electronic Science and Technology also opened the school's gymnasium to candidates who have no place to rest at noon. "The weather in Xi'an has been cold recently. Candidates can eat and rest safely in the school gymnasium. The school also provides hot water, ginger tea and shared power banks. Some candidates are unable to return to school to take the exam for some reason, and various localities have created conditions for candidates who borrow exams from other places to take the exam.

The college mobilized nearly 300 teachers to participate in examination administration and invigilation. Xiao Chen, a senior student at Beijing Sport University in Guangzhou, plans to take the postgraduate entrance examination at this school. He recently applied to the school to take the exam in another place in his hometown of Guangzhou. "Due to the epidemic, I have been studying and preparing for the exam at home and cannot return to Beijing to take the exam on campus. I was a little worried at first, but the school and relevant departments are doing their best to ensure that we can take the exam smoothly, and I will try my best to get good results."
It is understood that this year, Liaoning Province arranged for a total of 5,151 Liaoning candidates to take exams in 30 provinces, and at the same time received 3,792 candidates from 29 provinces to take exams in Liaoning Province. Shaanxi has 4,350 candidates who borrowed exams from other provinces, accepted 5,737 candidates from other provinces, and arranged for 13,798 candidates who borrowed exams from across cities within the province.
