We must have a consensus: that is, spending time calculated in years and hundreds of thousands or even hundreds of thousands of dollars on one thing, either to enhance your bargaining chips, or to add an option or a path to yourself.
Why do I say this? Because some groups have deep prejudice against studying abroad and have no way to communicate, such as the following one.
There is also a group of rich people who often don’t take hundreds of thousands seriously, so this consensus is meaningless to them. People spend money just to have fun.
Based on this consensus, we can discuss the advantages and disadvantages of studying abroad and studying in China.
For master's degree, I have experienced both at home and abroad.
China is a three-year system. It takes classes in the first year, internship in the second year, and graduates with a post in the third year. During this period, my supervisor was hired from outside, so I met less than 10 times in three years. At the beginning, I asked the second supervisor for most things, but after all, I was not a close friend, so I basically handled everything myself in the next two years, and I went to find the first supervisor if I couldn't handle it.
Let me put it this way. There are pros and cons in my situation. The advantage is that I have a lot of freedom and can do whatever I want. For example, I don’t have to spend a day in the laboratory. Of course, the disadvantage is that I can’t see my supervisor, and I have to rely on myself for academics (posting papers). I am used to trying everything myself first and then asking for help, so I am quite adaptable to this.
When I was internship, I met a group of Jida classmates. I also went to the second year of graduate school for internship and lived in the same room with a buddy for a year. To be honest, I can't see any difference in the internship place, and my work ability is similar, but it is obvious when I graduated and looked for a job. I am envious of their education basically meeting the requirements of most jobs.
There are not many people like me who are completely free-range. Most people need to work day after day in the lab during the 2nd and 3rd days of the lab, which is almost 9:00 am to 9:00 pm. It looks like the time span is long, but in fact, a lot of time is playing mobile phones, games, and dramas. It is actually hard for me to understand the behavior of having to watch TV shows in the laboratory. Are you unhappy when you return to the dormitory and lie down?
Some of them are crazy PUA by their mentors. I once heard that a classmate was bullied by his mentors. He had a variety of knives on the lab page every day. Later, I didn’t know what happened. Anyway, the mentor was much more honest.
Generally speaking, the domestic graduate education is quite abnormal. Students’ demand is to get better employment expectations through graduate school, while the supervisor wants to ask students to help them get promoted and raise their salary, and the product of the latter is not of great use for most students in the future.
Foreign graduate students are relatively simple. In just one year, basically, through this year, we will slightly deepen the knowledge of the subject. Most subjects are a simple taste of a certain subdivision direction. For example, java, which is to learn basic grammar, simple architecture, and finally make a simple logic APP. If you want to work in this industry, you have to spend more time in private.
In fact, in terms of study time alone, it takes a lot of time for master's degree abroad. In China, master's degree can also be studied for one year. The remaining two years are actually small papers + large papers, while in foreign countries, the past two years are missing.
. The experience in the past two years is actually not very effective for employment. It will be more useful if you continue to go to school, but if you just look for a job, it will be limited in your effect.
The advantage of foreign master's degree is that it is short and fast, and you don't have to endure the strange mentor you will encounter. The appeal is also very simple, just use money to exchange for education and leave to find a job, and don't have any conflicts with your mentor.
For doctors:
The biggest difference is that in most cases abroad, there is more money and less trouble. Why is it in most cases? Because perverted mentors are from different regions and countries, you may encounter them everywhere. This kind of thing abroad should be a little smaller, because the school has a good guarantee of students' interests. If there is any problem between teachers and students, protect students first. It is also in this case that the tutor often does not make a fuss and is mostly tolerant of students. Even if you are good, you will not be able to do anything.
The proportion of domestically squeezed will be much larger, which is mainly due to abnormal competition among domestic universities. The most typical example is that you will recruit thousands of post-blogs in a year, and most of them will be eliminated after 5 years. It is also a microcosm of doctoral students. The tutors squeeze doctoral students unlimitedly for their own hats, money, etc.
Recently, I have received many complaints from my classmates who are studying for doctoral students, either not care or perverted.
Of course, foreign doctoral students also have disadvantages, that is, they are extremely expensive without scholarships, often hundreds of thousands a year. However, most of the doctoral students I met abroad received scholarships, and each one was higher than the other, with 10,000 to 30,000 a month.
Doctors in China are actually not expensive to read, because food and living in schools are cheap, and there are various scholarships. At least you don’t have to pay extra money by yourself. Many schools give a lot of money. I know that , Tsinghua doctoral students get 60,000 yuan a year.
Summary:
Study abroad is mainly divided into three different ways: undergraduate, master and doctoral degree. Undergraduate degree is the most expensive, master degree is the second, and doctoral degree is the exception. If you want to talk about how to choose, the rich starts with undergraduate degree and a little money starts with master's degree. Doctoral degree is most suitable for the poor, and they use their ability, time and energy to compete for high scholarships.
