Southwest University of Science and Technology is located in Mianyang City, Sichuan Province. It originated from the Chongqing Construction Engineering School founded in 1952. Later, it underwent multiple mergers and reorganizations to form the current Southwest University of Science and Technology. The school is a university jointly built by Sichuan Province, the Ministry of Education and the National Defense Science and Technology Bureau.
