Liu Zhenxiong, 21 years old this year, was born in a mountain village in Nanyang, Henan Province. After his grandfather died of illness, his parents went out to work. In my memory, their parents had no time to accompany him in order to make a living. "I have never been by my parents since I started elementary school," Liu Zhenxiong told reporters that due to financial conditions, he has never experienced the happiness and satisfaction among his peers.
Since the second grade of elementary school, Liu Zhenxiong went to the township alone to go to school. He understood the burden of life earlier than his peers. After the college entrance examination at the age of 18, under the introduction of his friends, he went to Xiangtan, Hunan to do his first part-time job. "Do whatever you make money, basically some odd jobs in factories," he told reporters that after he went to college, he basically worked every winter and summer vacation. Xiangtan , Shanghai, Zhengzhou, Linyi... In the four years of college, he has traveled to many places and worked many jobs.

In the four years of college, most of the tuition was earned by Liu Zhenxiong through work, and even the living expenses did not take the initiative to ask his parents for it. Since the epidemic, Liu Zhenxiong has participated in more than a thousand epidemic prevention volunteer activities in the school. In March 2022, the originally stable epidemic prevention and control situation in Jinan City once again sounded the alarm. As the executive chairman of the school’s student union, Liu Zhenxiong took on the organization of the school’s epidemic prevention and control nucleic acid volunteers. Since March 21, it has served more than 250,000 teachers and students, organized 2,507 volunteers, with a total volunteer time of about 15,000 hours and a personal volunteer time of 283 hours. As a volunteer, Liu Zhenxiong maintains nucleic acid order during the day and joins the campus patrol team at night. All night long happens from time to time. When the epidemic situation is severe, school teachers and students need to watch the night together. Liu Zhenxiong said that at that time, his WeChat steps remained at about 10,000 steps per day. In addition to being a volunteer, he was also responsible for the planning of nucleic acid test sites and the recruitment and coordination of volunteers, and was busy until late at night almost every day.
In order not to disturb the roommate's rest, even if the vigil ended early, Liu Zhenxiong chose not to go back to the dormitory, but chose to lie on the office desk and "sniff for a while". "Once, when I volunteered during the day, I fell asleep while standing," Liu Zhenxiong recalled that there were too many things to be responsible at that time, and I was really tired, and I had the idea of giving up. In addition to participating in the school’s epidemic prevention and control, Liu Zhenxiong also participated in the “Return to Hometown” social practice activity in Nanyang City, Henan Province during the winter vacation in 2021, and contributed to the epidemic prevention and control of his hometown with practical actions.
