The planning concept of the new campus of Tarim University takes the red gene as the inheritance, the Populus spirit as the guide, and the green as the background, constructing the campus space pattern of "axis + learning community". Among them, one axis is the innovation axis, which is the north-south axis of the new campus of Tarim University; 4 learning communities and 1 international learning community are built around the axis. In addition, the new campus also has an engineering innovation center, a graphic information center, a training center, a cooperative graduate school, and a multi-functional cultural and leisure sports area.
Tarim University President Zhang Chuanhui introduced that after the completion of the new campus, the total area of Tarim University will reach 5,000 acres. The new campus will be mainly engineering students. The first phase of the new campus has a construction area of 71,000 square meters, including comprehensive teaching buildings, dormitories, canteens, etc., and is currently under construction.
"In March 2022, the new campus will welcome the first batch of students, with a scale of about 4,000 people, and another 3,000 people will be admitted to the new campus in September." Zhang Chuanhui said.
According to reports, during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, the number of students at Tarim University will reach 35,000.
