In recent years, the popularity of application for normal colleges and universities has been increasing, and everyone wants to compete for the "iron rice bowl" of teachers. However, in addition to normal students, there are many non-normal students in normal colleges. Graduates from normal colleges will enter various industries in addition to the education industry when they are employed. The overall employment situation of graduates may not be as good as expected. This article will select several representative colleges from different levels of normal colleges to analyze the employment status of all undergraduate students.

1. The undergraduate employment rate of some normal colleges has declined severely, falling below 80%
In recent years, due to the impact of the epidemic, the undergraduate employment rate of normal colleges has declined, and the undergraduate employment rate of some normal colleges is less than 80%. Among them, the undergraduate employment rate of Anhui Normal University in 2020 was 76.47%, a decrease of as much as 16.5% compared with the previous year; the undergraduate employment rate of Central China Normal University in has always maintained a low level for three years, and its employment rate in 2020 was the lowest, at 72.07%. The employment situation of normal colleges and universities improved in 2021, but the undergraduate employment rate of many colleges and universities is still lower than in 2019.

2. The popularity of domestic enrollment in normal universities has increased overall, and the enthusiasm of some universities has decreased
From 2019 to 2021, the popularity of domestic enrollment in normal universities has increased overall, and the domestic enrollment rate of East China Normal University and South China Normal University has increased by more than 3% in the three years. However, due to the inconvenience caused by the epidemic, the rate of further study abroad at East China Normal University in 2021 decreased by 4.8% compared with 2019, which has actually decreased the school's admission rate (including domestic admission and further study abroad). Hunan Normal University Undergraduate graduates' enthusiasm for further studies has declined, and the domestic admission rate and the rate of further studies abroad have declined.

3. The flexible employment rate of undergraduates in most normal universities is relatively high, and the employment situation is worrying
The figure below shows the flexible employment situation of undergraduates in some normal universities from 2019 to 2021. Since some universities have not directly announced the flexible employment rate, for these universities, this article will refer to the statistical methods of South China Normal University, and count the flexible employment rate from the two aspects of freelancing and other recruitment forms.
Most normal universities have a high flexible employment rate for undergraduates. Except for Central China Normal University, the flexible employment rates of the other four normal universities in 2021 exceeded 10%, among which Hunan Normal University has the highest flexible employment rate, at 21.53%. The flexible employment rate of Central China Normal University in the past three years does not exceed 1%.
South China Normal University has suffered serious setbacks in undergraduate employment in recent years. Its undergraduate employment rate in 2021 was 92.78%, a decrease of 5.95% compared with 2019. In contrast, the flexible employment rate has risen by more than 14% in three years. The decline in employment rates and the sharp rise in flexible employment rates fully reflect the seriousness of the current employment situation.

4. Undergraduate graduates from normal universities mainly flow into education and Internet-related industries
0 Undergraduate graduates of normal universities account for the highest proportion of the education industry, and the employment in most universities accounts for more than 40%, among which the employment in the education industry in Central China Normal University accounts for the highest proportion, and the employment in the three years is about 80%.
In addition to the education industry, undergraduate graduates from normal colleges and universities mainly flow into the Internet-related industries. In 2021, East China Normal University's employment in the information technology industry accounted for more than 20%, more than 9% higher than other normal universities. The main reason is that the school has the "B+" discipline of computer science and technology, and has strong subject capabilities.
