CSci and sci are both databases that include journal papers, but the two databases are different in the disciplines, recognition, journal sources, and paper sources. The specific difference between csci and sci, see below↓
Differences 1. Establishment institution
①Csci is a search and evaluation tool based on journal citations launched by the China Institute of Science and Technology Information. It covers nearly 10,000 scientific and technological and social science academic journals published in my country in the past 2000 years. It is currently the most complete Chinese paper citation library.
②sci is the scientific citation index . It was founded by American Institute of Science and Information in 1957. It is known as the three major scientific and technological literature search systems, together with EI (engineering index) and ISTP (science and science and technology conference index). It is an internationally recognized main search tool for scientific statistics and scientific evaluation.
Difference 2. Resource source
Csci covers four important well-known index databases: China Science and Technology Papers and Citation Database (CSTPCD), Chinese Social Science Citation Index (CSSCI), Chinese Science Citation Database (CSCD) and China Humanities and Social Science Citation Database (CHSSCD), providing the frequency of citations of the database.
Sci covers a few top journals from various countries (including a few top journals in major domestic core databases). Compared with Csci only collecting domestic journals, the resources are more extensive.
Difference 3. Academic influence
Csci contains domestic core journal papers, and SCI contains top journals in various countries and fields. It can be said that the academic influence of journals in the SCI database is generally higher than that of any core journal paper in China. Therefore, in terms of academic influence, journal papers included in SCI are more recognized than journal papers included in SCI.
Difference 4. For the population
Csci is only for domestic scientific researchers, while sci is for various countries. The spread of papers is wider and the citation rate of papers increases faster.
Finally, sci paper and CSCI papers are also different in language and publishing difficulty. Sci uses English, while CCS uses Chinese; and SCI papers are also more difficult to publish than CCS journals because of their high academic value.
