Project-based learning is of great significance to promoting educational and teaching innovation, improving school teaching ecology, and realizing in-depth changes in learning methods. In recent years, Yantian District has vigorously promoted project-based learning. The District Institute of Education Science has successively formulated and issued multiple reform and innovation documents such as the "Yantian District Education Quality Improvement Action Plan (2017-2019)", "Guidelines for the Overall Promotion of the "Classroom Revolution" by Yantian District Education Bureau", "Let Learning Really Take Away - Yantian District's Learning Method Change Action Plan for Future Education-oriented Education (White Paper)", and "Yantian District Project-based Learning 2.0 Construction Plan Based on Curriculum Reconstruction", which has greatly promoted the transformation of regional teaching and learning methods and promoted the improvement of regional education quality.

"Beautiful Yantian" project-based learning activity has been successfully held for two consecutive sessions, with a total of 34 results released. In this event, a total of 35 projects from 31 school-running units participated in the evaluation, which is the most popular in previous sessions. All public primary and secondary schools and kindergartens in the district have project exhibitions and evaluations, becoming the widest coverage of exhibitions and evaluation activities, achieving full coverage of project-based learning.

At the opening ceremony of

, the Yantian District Institute of Education and Science awarded the first batch of project-based learning boutique case honorary titles to projects that have achieved outstanding results in the international StarT project exhibition and evaluation activities in recent years, and used this to inspire Yantian District to develop towards curriculum, boutique and systematization, and jointly create a project-based learning boutique case resource library belonging to Yantian District.

Yantian District Yunhai School's "Library Protection Plan", Yantian District Yangang Primary School "A preliminary study on the silt control of Yantian River", Yunhai School's "Wutong Mountain Spring Water Protection Plan", Donghe Branch of Yantian District Foreign Language Primary School "Discussion on Shatoujiao River", Donghe Branch of Yantian District Foreign Language Primary School "Discussion on the Secrets of the Roots of Mangroves", Yantian District Education and Science Kindergarten "Jewelry Designer", Yantian District Foreign Language Primary School "Enhanced the Safety of Yihaicheng Amusement Facilities" and other seven projects were rated as the first batch of project-based learning boutique cases.
During the event exhibition and evaluation session on the morning of the 24th, seven schools (kindergartens) from Yantian District first appeared to showcase their respective project-based learning results. After the exhibition, Professor Dong Yan and Director Wu Dandan, on behalf of the expert group, commented on the projects displayed by each school (kindergarten).

Experts said that in this activity, each project team chose real problems, used real situations to generate real learning, enter real life, cross disciplines, and practice, bringing situational learning to students and driving sustainable learning and exploration. Each project allows children to actively construct learning, make full use of experimental tools and modeling tools, and how to appreciate, show and create beauty in life. Project-based learning also fully reflects children's learning in diverse interactions, and shows the beautiful scenery of Yantian through diversified methods. Each project also allows students to solve problems around them and experience the social role of an actor, from acting as a small master of society to gradually becoming a future master of society.

With the release of the new curriculum standards in 2022, project-based learning has become a research hotspot that the education community has paid attention to in recent years, and has also become the direction of exploration for many domestic education peers. Yantian District Teaching and Research Institute began to explore project-based learning in 2016, and began to focus on building the "Beautiful Yantian" project-based learning brand characteristics from 2020, using project-based learning as an innovation point and breakthrough point in education and teaching reform, so that learning can happen more realistically, echoing the national " double reduction " policy requirements and the needs of top talents to cultivate, so that beautiful Yantian has a promising future.
