After secret ballot, Chen Shaorong was elected as the chairman of the Standing Committee of the Shaoguan Municipal People's Congress, and Chen Zhiqing was elected as the mayor of the Shaoguan Municipal People's Government without permission.
Chen Zhiqing has been working in the Guangdong Provincial Development and Reform Commission for a long time. In 2021, he was transferred to the position of deputy secretary of the Jiangmen Municipal Party Committee and served as acting mayor of Shaoguan City in September this year.

According to the public resume, Chen Zhiqing was born in May 1969. After graduating from High degree from Tsinghua University in 1995, he joined the former Guangdong Provincial Planning Commission for Work. Later, he served as director of the Energy Department of the Guangdong Provincial Development and Reform Commission (Planning Department of the Provincial Energy Office) and director of the Comprehensive Power Department of the Energy Bureau.
In 2010, Chen Zhiqing was appointed as the director of the Office of the Guangdong Provincial Development and Reform Commission, and in became the deputy director of the Guangdong Provincial Development and Reform Commission in 2014. In 2018, he also served as the secretary of the Directly Affiliated Organs Committee of the Guangdong Provincial Development and Reform Commission, and in was transferred to the deputy secretary of the Jiangmen Municipal Party Committee in 2021.
On August 28 this year, the Organization Department of the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee issued a pre-appointment notice for provincial-level cadres, among which Chen Zhiqing plans to nominate as a candidate for mayor of prefecture-level cities.
On September 6 this year, Chen Zhiqing was appointed deputy mayor and acting mayor of Shaoguan City, and he was elected mayor.

Chen Shaorong was born in November 1968 and has worked in Shanwei City for a long time.
