It will rain from time to time. If the rain is heavier, these students will pack up their things and go to the tent to take shelter from the rain. It turns out that the "Art Painting Village" practice team of the School of Art and Design of Southwest Forestry University is carrying out summer practice activities here. Yunnan is a multi-ethnic province with many ethnic minorities. The People's Court of the Water Source Reserve is located in Baiyi, Panlong District, Kunming City Village, home to the Miao, Yi and other ethnic minorities. The students of Xilin created beautiful paintings based on the theme of local ethnic culture and ethnic unity, "moving" the blue sky, green water and green mountains onto the cultural wall, and "transforming" the original bare walls in the courtyard, using Characteristic cultural wall paintings decorate the beautiful Baiyi, and use the professional characteristics of college students to help national unity and rural revitalization.
In the past 10 days, they braved the sweltering heat and rushed around Baiyi Village in Panlong District to meet needs, design drawings, conduct field trips, draft drafts, and color... The students have now created works around themes such as rural revitalization and national unity. More than 200 square meters of wall paintings were produced, using "talking landscape walls" to show local cultural customs.
Wu Zhen, captain of the practice team and a 2020 student majoring in environmental design at the College of Art and Design of Southwest Forestry University, said, “Before painting, I discuss with the teachers at the court what to paint and how to paint. We communicate constantly during the painting process. The teachers at the court are very familiar with the work. The suggestions we put forward even inspired their creations. Some teachers and police officers from the court came to watch us paint during their free time at work, and couldn't help but pick up their paintbrushes and create with us."
