Dozens of team members from all directions gathered in the central square of Weiliu Wetland Park on the south bank of the Weicheng section of the Wei River. Here, they will engage in a simulated journey of the "Twenty-five Thousand Miles Long March" in accordance with the competition regulations and participate in a special "Parent-Child Orienteering Race".
This event is hosted by the Weicheng District Culture and Tourism Bureau. They follow the "We must do a good job in learning and educating young people, focus on telling the story of the party, the story of the revolution, and the story of the hero, and cultivate the feelings of love for the party, patriotism, and love for socialism." In the spirit of the directive, "Let the red gene and revolutionary fire be passed on from generation to generation", a parent-child orienteering competition was specially organized to "Lead the Party Building and Run, and Pass on the Red Spirit from Generation to Generation". Its purpose is to allow young children to pursue red memories, inherit red genes, and continue red blood, guide them to study knowledge hard, strengthen their ideals and beliefs, hone their strong will, and exercise strong bodies, so as to realize the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. The event is themed " Long March ". There are 5 check-in points along the 1.5-kilometer track, namely "Ruijin", "Zunyi", "Luding Bridge", "Snow Mountain Grassland" and "Yan'an". Competitors take the family as a unit, and parents accompany their children to complete fun activities set up at 5 check-in points. Finally, after collecting five check-in stickers, they will receive finisher medals and souvenirs. Along the way, staff acted as "enemy troops" and used water guns, water bombs and other props to interact with the contestants, allowing all contestants to immerse themselves in the hardships and dangers of the Long March.
After an intense "Long March" competition, the young contestants who won the first, second and third prizes finally stood out from more than 60 families. Liu Bo, Director of the Weicheng District Culture and Tourism Bureau, and relevant leaders awarded medals, prizes and commemorative medals to the winning contestants and families, and took group photos.
