On the afternoon of June 28, 47 students from the 2021 class of drainage science and engineering major of Southwest Forestry University entered the Dianchi Lake Protection and Management Science Center through the " internship activity" initiated by the school. They were full of curiosity and under the leadership of the teacher I deeply felt the great changes of Dianchi Lake and the arduous process of protecting and managing Dianchi Lake over the years.
Dianchi Lake Protection and Management Science Center is located at No. 1, Haiyue Road, Dianchi Lake Resort, Yunnan Province. Not only is it adjacent to the beautiful Dianchi Lake Scenic Area, but the outdoor landscaping is also quite surprising.
The science popularization center was officially unveiled in October 2021. With the specific theme of Dianchi Lake protection and management, it has two major venues, internal and external. The infield presents the vicissitudes of Dianchi Lake as well as the process of protection and management through seven exhibition halls, including the Birth of the Pearl, the Dust of the Pearl, the Revival of the Pearl, and the Rebirth of the Pearl. The exterior display displays a miniature landscape of Dianchi Lake and displays the three-dimensional ecological restoration model of "flowers-fish-clams", restoring the appearance of a community of life in which "cauliflower floats in the lake, golden barbel swims in the water, bows its head to play with lotus seeds, and pearls bloom in the clams".
The college student visit lasted an hour and a half. After the activity, the students reluctantly boarded the bus they came from. Before departure, a teacher leading the team said: Schools with a forestry background actually attach great importance to the cultivation of students' ecological and environmental protection awareness. The content of Dianchi Lake protection is even one of the key points of the students' curriculum.
