The reason for such doubts is that in the financial report of the first quarter of this year, ASML's revenue was only 3.534 billion euros, a 19% decrease year-on-year.

In the first half of this year, some people questioned ASML, believing that the current market for lithography machine is somewhat "out of fire". The reason for such doubts is that in the financial report of the first quarter of this year, ASML's revenue was only 3.534 billion euros, which was in a 19% decrease year-on-year. Therefore, because ASML's overall performance declined in the first quarter, many people feel that there is little demand for lithography machines.

But in fact, a list was released recently, which shows that the market for lithography machines has not "shut down".

According to statistics released by CINNO Research, ASML rose from the fourth place to the second place in the revenue ranking of global listed semiconductor equipment business. It is obvious that ASML shipments have obvious room for improvement in the second quarter. The reason for such a contrast is that the overall global semiconductor equipment and components have become tight in the market, so the shipment of lithography machines has been delayed. At the same time, many delivered lithography machines have not completed further testing by manufacturers. Therefore, ASML's performance in the first quarter was so unsatisfactory.

After this data, foreign media bluntly said: The United States may not be able to stop ASML.

Previously, the United States wanted to lobby ASML to expand the scope of ban on lithography machines and prohibit DUV lithography machines from being shipped to the Chinese market. However, ASML expressed its opposition, but industry insiders generally believe that ASML may not be able to escape such a fate. After all, many of their core component technologies come from American technology. If the United States restricts the shipment of DUV lithography machines through such technology, then ASML can only compromise.

However, under the current phenomenon of ASML revenue soaring, I personally think what foreign media said makes sense.

First of all, ASML has always clearly stated that the lithography machines with mature process chips are very marketable, because they are currently in a state of tight market supply in this area. This is the key factor why SMIC chose to increase its expansion of mature processes some time ago. So when our domestic market still has a lot of shipping space, it is unlikely that ASML will compromise on the US limiting the shipment of DUV lithography machines. Especially as ASML's own revenue is on the rise, it is even more impossible for ASML to compromise and not ship.

As long as ASML can show a certain tough attitude, or have more trump cards to compete with it, then even if it is something as bright as American technology, it is necessary to weigh it a few points. After all, the importance of ASML in the global lithography machine market is self-evident.

Secondly, a large part of ASML's revenue comes from the shipment of EUV lithography machines, and in this regard, it includes the efforts of chip manufacturers such as Micron , SK Hynix , etc. It can be said that the rapid increase in shipments of ASML's EUV lithography machine is the reason why most memory chip manufacturers have begun to adopt EUV processes. is just that, at present, there is a dilemma in the memory chip , that is, the inventory adjustment stage. indirectly reduces the use of EUV lithography machines. More importantly, big giants like Micron have recently fallen into a dilemma in revenue.

To put it bluntly, EUV lithography machines may be affected to a certain extent, so ASML will further increase the shipment of DUV lithography machines. The Chinese market is undoubtedly a major goal of ASML. At this time, the United States may really not stop ASML from wanting to ship.
