After playing with my friend's Zero EQ59 Pro, I became interested in this small-sized mini host. But I still have certain requirements for performance. After all, my work is mainly based on network and operation and maintenance. In addition to working as a work machine at home, I also need to take into account certain entertainment requirements (play Blizzard games and classic stand-alone games).
decided to use a high-performance mini host. I went to the official website of Lingke to study the mini host, and finally chose the Lingke SER5, which takes into account both performance and price. Zero SER5 has a large area of metal heat dissipation mesh cover on the top, and there are Zero and AMD logos in front, and next to it are stickers for AMD Ryzen 5 and AMD RADEON.
It is important to know that Zero is a manufacturer of AMD's important partner and is a manufacturer that provides mini host (Mini-PC) solutions to small and medium-sized enterprises.
The Zero SER5 I bought this time is the same family design ID as the Zero EQ59 Pro I bought for Lao Tie last time. Front panel I/O interface: CLR CMOS×1, USB 3.0×2, Type-C ×1, 3.5mm headphone jack ×1, power switch key ×1.
Zero SER5's rear I/O interface: Gigabit network port × 1, USB 2.0× 2, HDMI× 2, DC charging hole× 1, and there is a radiator air inlet above.
Zero SER5 has metal heat sink mesh covers on both sides, and it is obviously the air outlets of the radiator.
Zero SER5 standard AMD Z608 (MT7921K) wireless network card, which is a standard Wi-Fi 6E wireless network card. After all, it is only 80MHz, resulting in a maximum wireless speed of only 1.2Gbps. If you use the downgraded Wi-Fi 5 wireless network card, you may not be able to compare with the Intel AC9260NGW. You should know that it is 160MHz and the wireless network rate is as high as 1.7Gbps.
Zero SER5 comes standard with two Yingruida DDR4 3200MHz memory sticks, single capacity: 8GB, group dual channels, total memory capacity of 2 memory: 16GB (8GB×2). The back of the memory stick is a warranty QR code and warranty label.
Zero SER5 is the Kingston NV1 500GB NVMe SSD, and the back is also a warranty QR code and warranty label. The read and write speed of this Kingston NVMe SSD is OK, with a reading speed: 2100 MB/s and a write speed: 1700 MB/s.
Upgrade DIY transformation
I changed the AMD Z608 (MT7921K) wireless network card to Intel AX210NGW wireless network card, both of which are Wi-Fi 6E wireless network cards. The only difference is that the AX210 supports 160MHz and the wireless speed can reach up to 2.4Gbps, while the AMD Z608 (MT7921K) only supports 80MHz and the wireless speed can only reach 1.2Gbps.
This is a batch of memory sticks and SSD that the department applied for purchase last time. I will use it myself first. It just replaces the original memory and SSD of Zero SER5 to improve the overall hardware performance of the mini host and improves the user experience.
Zero SER5 has a SATA hard disk bit, here I installed the Seagate Cool Fish 2TB mechanical hard disk.

Zero EQ59 Pro vs Zero SER5
Zero SER5 is obviously more concentrated than the air outlet of the Zero EQ59 Pro, and the air duct design is more reasonable.
Since Zero EQ59 Pro has dual gigabit network ports, it can be suitable for soft routing. However, Zero SER5 has only one gigabit network port, and is more favorable to use in high-load operation environments such as high-performance program operation (you should know that the performance of 6-core 12-thread processors is still very strong). Select the iGPU Configuration setting item and select [UMA_SPECIFIED].
Select the UMA Frame buffer Size setting item, and select the VRAM capacity based on the actual memory size, and support up to 16GB as video memory (VRAM).
I chose 16GB as video memory (VRAM). That's because the Zero SER5 I currently use 16GB+32GB dual-channel group, and the total memory capacity is: 48GB.
System Migration and System Information Overview
Replace Kingston NV1 NVMe SSD, of course, it is necessary to do system migration to the original Windows 11 Pro. After changing to KINGBANK KP230 Pro NVMe SSD, the actual reading and writing performance is significantly better than that of Kingston NV1 NVMe SSD.
This is the hardware information of the device manager. There is no need to use the driver after migrating the system. It can be used after booting and entering the system network. All the drivers are recognized.
I have upgraded SER5 to the latest Windows 11 Pro 22H2 version.

Zero SER5 is a mini host computer that takes into account both performance and cost-effectiveness. For me, the performance of the AMD Ryzen 5 5560U's six-core twelve-threaded processor is definitely strong enough, which is much stronger than the performance of my old desktop Intel Core i5-6500 quad-core processor. The standard 16GB memory and NVMe SSD and RZ608 Wi-Fi 6E wireless network card are still not enough for me, so I chose to upgrade the memory, SSD and wireless network card. Finally, I changed myself to 48GB of memory (32GB+16GB), Jinbaida KP230 Pro NVMe SSD and Intel AX210 Wi-Fi 6E wireless network card. For operation and maintenance personnel who often deploy virtual machines on computers and play VMware virtualization, this configuration can meet my work needs.
