SK Hynix will showcase several server system products based on low-power consumption and high-performance memory at CES 2023.
One of the new products will be graphics card memory GDDR6-AiM, which uses memory computing technology (Memory Processing in Memory). The new memory has a per-pin speed of 16 Gbps and an operating voltage of 1.25 V. The high energy efficiency of the memory reduces the power consumption level of data transfer operations from the CPU to GPU by 80%. The new standard of memory is designed for computing accelerators that handle AI and large amounts of data. In addition, within the framework of its demonstration, the manufacturer will present the high-performance memory HBM3 chip of its own design and the SSD using the CXL 2.0 protocol. The main star of the
event will be the high-performance server hard drive PS1010 E3.S. It uses the 176-layer flash memory chip 4D NAND and is equipped with a self-produced SK Hynix controller that supports the interface PCIe 5.0. Hynix claims that the read and write speed of the hard drive PS1010 E3 is 130% and 49% higher than other brands of products. At the same time, its energy efficiency is 75% higher than competing products.
