I personally use the UNRAID environment and created three virtual machines , namely Black Group Hui, Aikuaisoft router, and OpenWrt bypass router. There are not many expansion interfaces on the motherboard, so I thought of using the two USB3.0 An interface, connected to two 2.5G USB network cards to increase the transmission speed within the LAN, which can also improve my experience when editing videos or daily use.
I first purchased two RicherLink brand 2.5G USB network cards, which use the rtl8156b chip. The UNRAID6.10 6.10.3 version comes with its own driver. After plugging in the motherboard, the USB3.0 interface lights up smoothly, and the hardware management interface also displays Corresponding information is displayed.
There is a small pit here that you should pay attention to:
If you have not changed anything, directly check the 2 USB network card devices on the virtual machine settings page. After clicking to save the settings, the system will pop up an error message. Two USB cannot be loaded at the same time. Network card, if only one USB network card is plugged in, it will enter normally.
This is because the system identifies the USB vendor/product. If both are consistent during loading, an error will be reported.
solution:
opens the virtual machine settings interface, clicks on the XML view in the upper right corner, adds corresponding addresses for the USB device , and clicks Update after completion, and then the virtual machine can be started smoothly.
Although AIKuai successfully recognized it, the speed was normal. But after a few days of use, I found that there would be disconnections when transferring large files. Although it was not frequent, it was quite annoying when it happened. I didn’t know whether it was due to the driver or the heat dissipation, so I bought two more ULT-unite brand 2.5 cameras. G USB network card, after testing, the problem is still the same. I don’t know if it will be solved with the update of UNRAID in the future.
