I thought a lot of people knew what PBO is, but I didn't know until a few days ago that there are still a lot of people who don't know. So in this video, I will briefly explain what PBO is and how to open PBO?
Speaking of PBO, we just need to know what it is used for? What effect can it have on our host? In layman's terms, PBO is a overclocking technology developed by AMD. When your power supply and temperature allow, the system will automatically overclock the CPU more aggressively. It is suitable for players who do not want to manually overclock and want to experience overclocking performance.
For example, the 3600X's normal turbo frequency frequency is 3.8-4.4, if the PBO is turned on, it will exceed 4.4, and if the physique is good, it can even reach 4.6 to 4.7.
But why I haven't taught you how to open it before, nor do I recommend you to open it?
is because of the previous PBO, I don't think it is necessary to open it. For the CPU of ZEN3, the voltage is too high, and the frequency adjustment is not intelligent. If you play League of Legends, the temperature of and can reach 90 degrees. Although the data is OK, it is brainless and savage. This is not as good as manual overclocking yourself.
But in January of this year, AMD updated the upgraded PBO, that is - PBO2. In terms of the original PBO technology, PBO2 has added intelligent voltage dynamic adjustment, so the heat generation of the CPU has been slightly reduced. Finally there is a reason to use it again.
Of course, to enable PBO2, the following three conditions must be met!
. That is to have AMD 400 series or 500 series motherboard .
. You must also upgrade the BIOS to a version above AGESA 1.1.8.0. If you do not know whether you are a version above AGESA 1.1.8.0, then I suggest you go directly to the motherboard official website to download the latest BIOS.(At present, the motherboards of the three Taiwan series have been supported)
. A Ryzen 5000 series processor. At present, the 3000 series does not seem to support PBO2, and I don't know if there will be an update later.

The first step , change [precision boost overdrive] to advanced, which is actually to open the advanced options of PBO, there will be many parameters that can be adjusted below .
Step 2 , change [PBO Limits] to Disable to close. It is to turn off the voltage limit of the PBO.
Step 3 , change [Precision boost overdrive scalar] to 10x. What does it mean? It is the multiplier of CPU acceleration. Although there are 1-10 to choose from, it is generally better to choose 10 times. 10x works for most CPUs.
The fourth step of is to change the [max CPU boost Clock override] to 200mhz. This option determines the increase of the maximum CPU turbo frequency. Generally, those that can exceed 200 are Dadiao CPUs. I told you that the values and values are benchmark values and are suitable for most CPUs.
The fifth step is to modify the upper temperature limit, just set a higher value, I usually set it to 150, because the CPU temperature will be reduced as long as it reaches 90 degrees or more, so it is useless if you set it to a high value.

according to the picture parameters according to the situation. Setting [Curve Optimizer] to [All Cores] means all cores. Then [All core curve optimizer sign] is set to [Negative] negative number , which is what some big guys often say step-down overclocking . Reduce the pressure on the CPU to obtain lower power consumption and temperature.
However, it is not a random reduction, and a suitable and stable value is required. Instead of blindly lowering it, if the lowering is too low, it will lead to unstable booting and various blue screen and crashes.
Therefore, the value of [All core curve Optimizer Magnitude] is generally between 1 and 30. Because it is a negative number, the larger the value, the greater the pressure reduction, the lower the pressure, and the lower the power consumption and temperature. The larger the value of
, it also proves from the side that your overall physique is more carved (CPU, motherboard, power supply), and the physique is generally between 10-20. If it can reach 20 or more, it is considered a carving. Therefore, there is no way to copy this value, and the system of each computer will be different. As for how to determine a suitable value, you can only try it slowly by yourself. Starting from 10, you can test +2 in turn. Enter the system to see if it can stably pass the stress test of AD64 or P95. If the test is unstable, an error is reported, etc., the value should be appropriately reduced until it is stable.The last step of
