Introduction
Next, I am going to write several introductory articles on the Book of Changes. The articles are mainly based on related works such as Professor Z5z Zeng Shiqiang of Taiwan Jiaotong University and Professor Liu Dajun of Shandong University to help everyone learn and understand the traditional I Ching culture from the simplest to the deeper.
Text: What is gossip
To learn the Book of Changes, you must first start with gossip. Song agent scholar Zhu Xi created a gossip ballad for everyone to remember:
Gansanlian, Kun Liudao, Zhenyangyu, Gen Fuwan, Li Zhongxu, Kanzhongman, Dui Shangqi, Sundan and Xunxia
The gossip consists of two lines of Yin and Yang. The symbol "-" represents the Yang line, and the symbol "-" is disconnected to obtain the symbol "-- "" stands for Yin Yao. So it is not difficult to see that
stems (☰) triple , which is composed of three yang lines arranged from bottom to top. Among them, the bottom of is called one line, and the number up is two lines, three lines, and others. The sequence of the lines in the hexagram is also viewed in this way.
Kun (☷) six off , where the six refers to yin and yao. In the explanation of the four elephants, I introduced that the ancients used 6789 to represent yin and yang, respectively, to represent the four properties of old yin, old yang, shao yin, and shao yang. . So the Kun Liu Duan mentioned here means that Kun Gua is composed of three Yin Yao.
Zhen (☳) Yang Yu, is a very vivid metaphor. We think of the image of Zhen Gua as a bowl. The bowl is solid at the bottom and empty in the middle, so the three corresponding to Zhen Gua The line is, one line is yang line (real), the second line and third line are yin line (virtual).
Gen (☶) covers the bowl, is just the opposite of the Zhen Gua, it is an inverted bowl, so the three lines corresponding to Gen Gua are one line, the second line is the yin line, and the third line is the yang line.
Li (☲) The middle is empty. Among the three lines of the hexagram, only the middle two lines are empty, broken, and one yin line, while the first and third lines are both yang lines.
hurdle (☵) is full, is the opposite of hexagram, , gua , only the middle two yao is real, continuous, and one yang yao, while the first yao and the third yao are both Yin Yao.
vs (☱) on the lack, refers to the three lines, the top three lines are empty, broken, and one yin line, while the first line and the second line are both yang lines, which is called Duigua .
Xun (☴) breaks down, is the opposite of Gua Dui. Among the three lines of Xun Gua , the bottom line is empty and one Yin line, while the second line and third line are both Yang line. The above eight trigrams of
are called hexagrams , which are also the most common form of gossip. Then through the combination of the two hexagrams, 8x8=64 hexagrams will be obtained. Each of these 64 hexagrams is composed of six lines , which are called other hexagrams.
For example, put the qian hexagram in the classic hexagram below, and then stack the kun hexagram on top of the qian hexagram. The qian hexagram and the kun hexagram each have three lines, then they are stacked together to form a 6 line composition Die Gua ——- Tai Gua .
