On October 3, Tesla disclosed its latest sales data. Data shows that in the third quarter of 2022, Tesla produced 365,923 cars worldwide and delivered 343,830 cars.
However, according to foreign media citing institutional views, Tesla said that the delivery volume in the quarter was less than the market expected 357,900 vehicles.
Tesla said that its delivery volume has always increased sharply at the end of each quarter due to mass production methods for different regional markets. "As production continues to increase, the challenge of ensuring transportation capacity at reasonable costs during peak logistics transportation periods is getting bigger and bigger."
"In the third quarter, we began to transition to 'more balanced mass production for different regional markets in weekly units', which led to an increase in the number of cars still in the transportation process at the end of the quarter." Tesla added that these in-transit cars have been ordered and will be delivered to customers upon arrival.
Recall, in the first quarter of 2022, Tesla produced 305,407 cars worldwide and delivered 310,048,000 cars; in the second quarter, Tesla produced 258,580 cars and delivered 254,695,000 cars. According to this calculation, the company delivered a total of 908,573 million cars in the first three quarters.
Tesla said at its Q2 financial report meeting that car delivery volume will achieve an average growth of 50% in the next few years, that is, it plans to produce 1.5 million cars in 2022.
