Recently, Lamborghini officially announced that with the launch of the last flagship model Aventado (commonly known as "Big Niu"), the car officially entered the end of production, and Lamborghini's naturally aspirated V12 engine has officially become history. The model that was launched this time is a custom light blue LP 780-4 Ultimae Roadster. Although the successor of Aventador will also be equipped with a V12 engine, it will be equipped with a hybrid system composed of an electric motor, officially opening the chapter of the electrification era.

Lamborghini Aventador debuted at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show. The first generation model was LP 700-4. All models are equipped with the 6.5L V12 naturally aspirated engine . Then, based on it, a series of models such as SVJ and Jota were also launched, but corresponding adjustments were made in terms of power according to different versions.
In September 2020, Lamborghini delivered the 10,000th Aventador model. As of the time of production suspension, a total of 11,465 units were sold worldwide, making it Lamborghini's most popular V12 model to date, which is more sales than all previous V12 models combined.

It is worth mentioning that the Ultimae version of Aventador was launched in 2021. As the final version of the car series, the car is limited to 600 units, including 350 hardtops and 250 convertible models. The last one should have been put off-line delivery in the first half of 2022, but in February this year, the cargo ship Felicity Ace, which was responsible for transporting 15 Aventador vehicles, sank in the Western waters, Lamborghini was forced to restart the production line and rebuilt the last dozen models, and the last model was also extended to be taken off-line in September.
As for the successor model, the car has been underway for road tests. It is reported that it will debut at the beginning of next year and will be built based on the electrification architecture. At the same time, in terms of power, the newly developed V12 engine will be adopted and equipped with a generator to form a hybrid system.
V12 engines can always be regarded as Lamborghini's "tradition". Since its establishment, from Miura, Diablo to Murciélago, they are all equipped with very pure V12 engines. Although the subsequent models will still be equipped with a V12 engine, with the addition of the motor, some users may feel that it is not as pure as the current model, but it is undeniable that this is an inevitable move due to the general trend, which has long been reflected in the Ferrari next door.
