In 2009, when almost all car companies were fighting in the field of fuel vehicles, GAC began to develop the first hybrid model. 200 hybrid demonstration vehicles built with a P1+P4 structure became the beginning of a dream.
Five years later, in 2014, Trumpchi launched the extended-range electric vehicle GA5 REV, becoming one of the originators of domestic extended-range electric vehicles. In 2017, Trumpchi further upgraded the hybrid system, proactively changed the original range-extended technology direction to series-parallel technology, and launched the GMC 1.0 hybrid system.
At the beginning of 2020, Trumpchi upgraded this set of GMC 1.0 (GMC1.1), which has higher power generation efficiency, stronger power, wider use scenarios, and can continue to meet full load output even under power loss. On April 26, 2022, Trumpchi launched its hybrid technology brand, Julang Hybrid, which integrates version 2.0 of the GMC dual-motor series-parallel hybrid system and the THS power split hybrid system in cooperation with Toyota . At the Chengdu Auto Show , which opened on August 26, GAC Trumpchi brought the Julang consisting of the Shadow Cool hybrid version, the Shadow Leopard hybrid version, the new generation M8 luxury MPV hybrid version, and the new second generation GS8 dual engine.
