According to officials, in this transformation, 101 robots will be added to the body shop, and 408 robots will be adjusted in software programs and tempo. A high-strength steel-aluminum hybrid process body production line was installed; two production lines were newly built in the final assembly workshop, and online tooling equipment was upgraded. In addition, the new paint shop under construction is also progressing as planned.

In terms of production capacity, Jianghuai Weilai Hefei Advanced Manufacturing Base adopts order-based production, and some cars are also available . Weilai said, " currently has an annual production capacity of 120,000 units at this plant. After the overall upgrade is completed, the annual production capacity will reach 240,000 units. The annual production capacity can be increased to 300,000 units through overtime or increased shifts. strong18strong.” It can be seen that orders for NIO have increased by more than 100%.
However, the production capacity is still climbing. Taking the fast-growing September as an example, the monthly delivery volume was 10,628 units. Although it increased by about 80% from the previous month, there is still a gap between the upper limit of production capacity.

It is understood that the Jianghuai NIO Advanced Manufacturing Base will start the overall upgrade of the production line in early 2021. According to the plan, the overall upgrade of the production line will be completed in the first half of 2022 to meet the growing market demand.
As for whether it will affect the production in October? Weilai said,"This transformation has minimized the impact on production and made full use of the National Day holiday for the production line shutdown transformation. It started on September 28 and was completed on October 15. This transformation will not affect the overall production plan of Q4."
Weilai delivered more than 10,000 units in September, a year-on-year increase of 125.7%
It is worth mentioning that, not long ago, Weilai announced its September 2021 delivery results. A total of 10,628 units were delivered in September, a year-on-year increase of 125.7%, achieving positive growth for six consecutive quarters.
According to official data, in the third quarter of this year, Weilai has delivered 24,439 new cars, an increase of 100.2% year-on-year, setting a new quarterly delivery record, with positive growth for six consecutive quarters, exceeding Q3 delivery guidelines. It is reported that from January to September this year, a total of 66,395 units were delivered, a year-on-year increase of 151.7%. A total of 142,036 NIO vehicles have been delivered.
Tesla Shanghai Gigafactory
For comparison, Tesla Shanghai Gigafactory produced more than 56,000 electric vehicles in September, 93% of which are sold in China. Therefore, according to September data, Tesla's production capacity may reach approximately 681,400 vehicles per year, which is twice as much as NIO.
